Worried I won't find a job. Is this training program worth it?

I'm sick and tired of this job market. I've been out of work for nearly two years now.

I've lost count of the number of rejections or ghostings I've had.

That's why I've decided to sign up for a "stretcher bearer" training program. I don't know how I can translate the job into English, but that's the closest I've come to.

Anyway, it looks like a thoroughly interesting course that lasts 20 days (70 hours theoretical and 70h work experience in a hospital/clinic).

What worries me is what comes after the training period.

I've been looking into many job sites, and I can't see any job listings for it.

I really don't know what to do. Do I join the training course and hope for the best?

Do I look elsewhere, knowing that I can't find any job whatsoever?

Why would you do it backwards? Why don't you find out what jobs have a high demand for workers and do a training program in that field?

"I graduated with a degree in horse and buggy maintenance and found out no one uses horse and buggies anymore. For like 125 years."

or what we see all the time,

"I graduated with a degree in philosophy and found out there are no jobs in philosophy."

Why didn't you know there are no jobs in philosophy before you started the program?

"So what was your past work experience?" "Oh I was the chief philosopher for FedEx."

It doesn't work that way.

There's a huge shortage of nurses right now, everywhere in the world. So train for nursing and they will be throwing job offers at you, for good money, and with lots of job security.

Do your research, and only train for work that is actually there.

I know a guy who could not get hired because he had no job experience so what he did is he joined volunteer initiatives through youth job opportunities to build his resume. Some of his volunteer posts led to references while other posts refused to act as his reference due to dissatisfaction with his work performance, but either way, he got new experiences and expanded his work network which will be useful to him when he launches his career.

It isn't. The training program is carried out by the Red Cross.

Okay- The program is legit. I got my senior lifesaving badge from the Red Cross. However, if there is no demand for this program it will be a waste of your time. You need to do some research on what kind of jobs are in demand right now. Maybe your local college has a career counselor that you could talk to. There are many certificate programs that you could finish in less than a year and find a job afterwards.
A quickie 2 week course is just some way to learn a skill and will not lead to a career.
