Why are people slaves in 9 to 5 jobs?

I do not mean that they are wage slaves. I work a 9 to 5 too. But they are so obedient for 3% annual raises. Even if I don’t get those raises because I do the bare minimum, I keep my energy for my second source of income and I make more than them.

When I was at my old job, I knew a lot of people who worked for the sake of having a job and not because they thought the job paid well. There was one person who qualified for retirement income but wanted a job so they could attract dates and pay for food outings with their boyfriends, they said this with their own mouth so I am not gossiping, this is what they said to us in front of everyone.

There was another lady married to a rich man and with a good adult sized family who worked because she felt guilty sitting at home and watching t. v. while her kids were working hard to support the family, and she worked to feel less guilty about doing nothing all day.

And there were a few retired people who worked because they were not religious and could not make friends through church so needed a job to meet people.

So are you basically saying people who work only one job are slaves to the system? If so, that's really ignorant to say. Many people have families to take care of and can only do one job. I'm sorry that everyone can't be like you and have two sources of income.

Capitalism, that’s the long and the short of it

Sorry, capitalism lets you make money in multiple ways. Communism is what leaves you with no other option than work inside a hierarchy to which you have to obey

Capitalism is a pyramid with the richest at the top and the poorest at the bottom. The reason those at the top are at the top is because 4 or 5 generations ago they had rich ancestors who continued to build on their wealth by lobbying for systems that made it possible for them to build more and more and more so they would never be poor. You can pretty much never see the top of the pyramid in your lifetime if you start at the bottom of it. Currency is necessary to survival, and there’s not a lot of it to go around because a lot of it is hoarded at the top of the pyramid. Currency pays rent, groceries, water, and electricity, all things necessary for living in our day and age. Capitalism and communism are two sides of the same coin, the only difference is who’s in charge.

You can still make money in multiple ways. It doesn’t mean that you are on the top.
However be at the bottom means to obey orders from someone. Capitalism doesn’t mean that you have to obey someone in a 9 to 5 job. You can find so many ways to make money. You can sell products online. It’s a free market.

If you start at the bottom, the best you can hope for is the middle. If you start at the middle, you can reach just below the top. If you start at the top, you stay there. The system is designed to benefit those who already have a lot of money, and if you don’t have a lot of money, you will need to work yourself to exhaustion doing multiple jobs in order to get to the middle in the hopes that you don’t have to keep suffering in the name of survival. I’ve worked multiple jobs at once, I’ve done side hustles on top of that, it’s horrendous to do all of that just to afford my rent and groceries and no other luxuries. Capitalism is a pyramid scheme that we’ve all bought into because we were told it was the better system

Then you can be a cab driver with no college degree. There nobody tells you what to do and you don’t constantly have to obey orders. You take people from point A to point B
