Why do some jobs take so long to give you an answer after an interview?

I had an interview for a job that I really want to work for and my interview seemed to go really good , the guy told me he would have an answer for me in 3 to 5 days , a few days after the interview I wrote him a Thank you email for taking the time to interview me and that I am very interested in the position, come day 5 I still didn’t hear anything , no email, no phone call , so I called him and asked if any decisions were made and he said he is still waiting for confirmation from corporate , and that he will let me know as soon as he hears’ something. It’s almost going to be 2 weeks without an answer. Why do companies wait this long to make a decision? why post a position and interview for a position , if they can’t make up their fucking minds? I hate this job market with a passion , why do companies make it so complicated for people to land jobs Especially if they need people? He did tell me No news is Good news. Easy for him to say.

I remember I went on a job interview once and I think it went really well. He seemed very interested in hiring me, yet, almost a month went by and I didn't hear from him.
Finally Human Resources called me and asked me if I could start on Monday. I said yes.
When my first day came, my new boss asy me "What took you so long to start"? I explained that Human Resources just called me on Friday to let me know I could start this Monday. He seemed upset.
He said that right after our interview he called Human Resources and told them to hire me right away.
Human Resources just sat on it and didn't do their job. That's what happened. My new boss wanted me to start right away.
There are sooooo many job applicants for just one job these days. It's a process and it's hard as a job applicant who went through the interview to sit and wait for the process.
Just carry on with your job seeking and trying to land more interviews and just forget about that company and who knows? They may call you or they may not.
Here I already had that job I just told you about but I didn't know it and I just kept interviewing and continued my search.
I completely understand your frustration. I had an entire shoe box of reject letters, but at least back then you did get an answer via a letter in the mail.

Corporates take a long time. Hiring manager put in all that information and documentation in after the get a notification from HR. I was a Forever21 Manager all stores close down and I am left currently with no job I was waiting for this job. I started applying for different Jobs. Try applying for different Jobs because you need to eat. You were very kind and considerate to send an email and yet no respect if they can't have respect for you're time and effort then why should you waste you're time and wait. Apply at different jobs. Search for job agency's.

They need to do meetings, second interviews more meetings

Because they're the ones with the power and you're not. They can afford to drag their feet, be picky, string you along and not even bother to contact you when they selected someone else leaving you hanging on their whim forever. This is the reason why when I get solicitations for job (I'm currently fully employed), I don't even bother to respond. Sometimes I tease them and act as if I'm interested, when really I'm not, and string them along for a ride before abruptly - ghosting them!
