How often do you take off work each year?

Question

So far I've taken off 6.5 days or 52.5 hours.

I have about 79.98 hours left or 9.9 days left and I intend on using the majority of that in November. I'm going to take almost 2 weeks off.

4 days off the third week in November and 3 days off the last week in November with Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgiving automatically off.

I can't wait! So excited to be off for almost 2 whole weeks!

Oh my goodness.

I've been off so much this year, I had to poke the schedule makers shoulders and kindly ask her to STOP giving me time off because it was IMPOSSIBLE for me to actually fully do my job.

I had 3 weeks during summer, - I work in a way that just two shifts off some weeks, means a full week off work: have had a couple of those, I'm getting 2 weeks during Christmas/new years. I've about 2 personal days and just got a new to my collection and about 45 hours to spend outside of that. Then I've 6th holiday week which I just want to get paid out.

We get two weeks worth of paid vacation. It renews every year on the anniversary of our hire date. It's a "you use it or lose it" type of thing and we have to use it before our next work anniversary. So, for example, my hire date is July 17th so, I have to use all of my vacation time before July 17th, 2026. We can use it how we want and spread it out. So, in other words, a day here and a day there.

ARe you trying to say you have 17 days annual leave per year? Because that is laughable.

I have 36 days next year, plus the bank holidays and another 2 weeks closure over Christmas. Plus I'll probably have a whole week saved up in flexi time.

Haven’t been at my job a year yet, but I’ve taken a week off for my birthday. I have over a week in PTO left as of now but I get 3 weeks a year until I hit the 5 year mark.
I’ll be taking classes so I can’t take off as much as I want, but I’ll be visiting my friend in Germany next year.

some years it's 0.00 time off, this year i just had 3 months off with only one interruption which was heavenly, i'm still sort of off but not, but then starting in a couple of weeks it's gonna be 7 months of nonstop craziness. they just added a date the night before the US Open finals, so i'll have to fly to LA on the Wednesday and then if anyone i like is in the finals fly back after the show that Friday night and then to Nashville by Sunday night. if no one i like is in it then i can just fly back to Nashville with everyone else whenever they go. and all that could change on a moment's notice and i just have to do it. so i want Emma Raducanu to win the US Open again (and i want to see her win with Alacaraz) but it's going to be quite a logistical thing to pull it off

I am "employed" as an independent contractor, so I can take off as much time as I want, but I don't get paid when I don't work. This year, I took off 7 work days in January to go on a 9 day cruise with my wife. I have taken off three days dues a sinus infection and bronchitis, and I will be taking off this Friday and the following Monday because we have bought a house and are moving. I'll take off the Friday after Thanksgiving and probably an extra day around Christmas and that's it.

I have 30 days per year. Usually you have 20 days off work if you have a 5-day-work-week. Plus holidays as eg. Christmas 25. + 26. Dec or 3. Oct in GER. Not every day is Mon - Fri - it is only an plus if it is not weekend. So if you have a holiday in a week you only need 4 of your 30 days off work to have one week off work.

So I have 35 days holiday per year , or 5 weeks. Additionally I work longer weeks to accrue more time back but usually finish early on a the occasional Friday to make up for that. 2 -3 weeks I usually visiting other cities outside my country spending the remainder visiting with life long friends and family.

I work for myself. And I say I can do what ever lol. But its not true. If someone calls me and needs something done. I do it.. because I want them to keep calling..

And I dont really have to take off work because I have time in between jobs. But there are times where im doing 2 or 3 jobs at a time but it all works out

I get 15 days off per year plus holidays, but I am also salary and only need to work 30 hours per week if we're slow, so I'll take far more long weekends without using PTO. I have probably taken 25 days a year on average. So far this year I've taken only 7 days of PTO

In my 31 years career I have had 3 years where I didn't work in the job one of which was serving in the military. I had 3 days off when I broke my ankle in my first 10 years of working. The next 10 I had none and the next 11 I had 3 weeks in bed with covid, broken ankle had 1 day off, and the rest I've turned up to work early and left late almost all the time.

I get 4 weeks off a year, and I have the option of working remote. I'll usually take a week of paid time and work remote for another week so I can stay at places a little longer. Just gotta make sure I have good internet when doing so
