How often do you call out of work?

I call out maybe once every few months. And it’s usually when I’m genuinely sick. I very rarely call out for shits and giggles. Even when I am sick, calling out makes me nervous lol

Im sick so I tried to call out today and my manager was like “your shift is not until 4:30. Take some medicine and call me back around 1 and tell me how you feel”

like bruuuuuh lol. I’m dying please just cover my shift.

Selfemployed 🤗😭 I can work whenever I want... I still need to get stuff done otherwise I dont get paid. working something comparably to halftime helps though.
I have some stuff prepared that I can easily work into a thing done for publishing in case of emergencies. Thats predone work though, Not easy pay for nothing.
But if I am ill I dont work, because without concentration my work is shit. I plan to work around my period as I can't work there at all either. Being Ill is highly irregular therefore I can't say how often.

I work from home, so as long as I'm able to focus all is fine. This week, after the whole weekend in bed I was still sick on Monday, so I took sick leave.

but in general a few days per year... sometimes in winter I get flu and then 2 weeks of dying :D

Almost never. Except for scheduled days off, I missed a day of work maybe once every ten years or so. I rarely get sick, and I never faked it or lied about it.

I think I've been sick twice in the last 25 years. Once was a bad cold and once was food poisoning from eating the wrong kind of wild mushroom.

When I worked for the state I got plenty of sick time. I used to call in sick at least once a month. There was one period of time that between holidays, snow days, sick days and vacation days I went 6 months without working a single 5 day week.

I get preapproved sick/vacay time. We have a set number of days we can miss so i try not to call out but it happened once due to my flight being delayed
