I am a day porter in a high school, basically it's a fancy word for a custodian. I have noticed a lot of the newer teachers are younger and more modernized than when I was in school before I graduated in 2009. It seems like everything is more digital these days and there's not as many cliques now.

Yes definitely. When I worked as a substitute teacher at a high school, kids were glued to their phones and could not hardly read. I find that disturbing that they are letting kids fly by without much literacy skills.

North Carolina recently passed a law saying it's against the law for a student to have cell phone out during instruction time

I would never put my kids in public school. It does appear different though teachers fear disciplining children even mildly, and conservatives parents are openly insecure about others sexuality. The kids couldn't care less. Much more maturity in the younger generation. But that changes every ten or so years. Their kids will be screw ups. Can't be like your parents.

In my time before society rotted away so bad we never would have had teachers hanging flags about ass fucking in class rooms. No one would have put homosexual pornography in elementary school libraries either. These people will have to answer for this.

It's the new addiction to screens that is hard to deal with as a teacher. I recall walking along a corridor and seeing not 1 kid out of 50 staring at their screens.

Hey, we graduated the same year. :) Anyway, yes. It has definitely changed. My sister is 16 and is in high school. No more physical textbooks. All of their stuff is on the computer.

No one had a cell phone, just the principal had a pager for incidences.

Yes when I was a kid the teachers were there to make your life a living hell. Now the teachers want to be your friend
