What religious holidays do they add now? As far as I know most religious holidays schools take off on the western world are holidays that have been taken off long before the existence of Christianity, for like 3000 years.

What they should consider is that there are only 365 days in a year and adding another holiday probably means taking a day from the summer holidays.

Rules and criteria? Who needs them when a self appointed pope king. He even abducts abs deports actively working firefighters from the front line of wildfires. He won't even ask the school board. He'll demand the day a holiday.

They shouldn’t. Holidays are for the State to set. Religion should only be taught in school to the extent of cultural understanding, which may include celebratory/themed lunches, because, who doesn’t want to eat?

Tough one. Maybe give students X number of personal days per year so that the school does not have to officially endorse any yet can still respect the beliefs of each student.

How many people in the town practice that religion. How important that holiday is. Do kids really need another day off?

I consider religious holidays as irrelevant, but if they want to add them to the school calendar, then it's their personal choice (depends on their religious denomination).
