I used to be a manager and I befriended the head of housekeeping. Now the thing about housekeeping, is that people often blatantly ignore them or forget that they are there in a room cleaning and that they have ears that hear everything going on. She had access to the very top all the way down to the very bottom of staff. You can see where this is going. We would meet up and she would tell me EVERYTHING!!! Stuff I didn't even see coming, she knew about. She wasn't a nasty gossip, but just this is how they think you're doing over here, this is who they're thinking of hiring type stuff which allowed me to get ahead of the game. I trusted her and vice versa with the daily gossip, and she never let me down or betrayed me if I told her something on my end. In fact, she would help me sometimes by putting a word into someone's ear if she knew something happening was wrong.

Is this really a question that needs asked 😜. Even office gossips don’t like other office gossips.

Personally I don’t confine it to dislike of office gossips , it applies to ALL gossips from factory floor to farm , generally they are all people with low intellect , too much time on their hands , very little in their lives that love attention , as without it they have no value.

I’m sure they grow older and become “Karen’s” and “Nigel’s” . It’s who they must become to get the attention they still crave , negative it may be but attention it is.

Can it be entertaining? Sure. But you know if they’re not talking about you yet they will be. People talk about others to get the attention off themselves…. And show off they know something you don’t know.

They will do the same shit to you as they do to one another.

Office gossip is only OK when I know everything about everyone and no one knows anything at all about me that I didn't specifically engineer into the conversation.

Other than that, it's a disgusting practice and anyone engaged in it should be ashamed of their childish behavior, but I'm concerned about Pam, how's she doing?

I absolutely hate and find it toxic. I don't mind rumors like 'We're having a new CEO soon or XYZ finally resigned' but when people start talking about their co-workers personal lives or b*tching about co-workers that's not a conversation a want to be a part of.

Like/dislike I don't really think in those terms. I simply don't have any respect for them. When I'm at work i got 💩 to do. I ain't got time for thier nonsense. So as long as they stay the f*** outta my way I don't care who they talk to about what. They probably weed themselves out eventually.
