What is a good reason to tell a recruiter when they ask you the reason why you’re leaving your current employer for them?

I work for a multi billion dollar company that is highly reputable in the aerospace industry, it’s a great company but the people I work with; unfortunately are insufferable. This has ultimately led to me deciding it’s time to leave and seek employment elsewhere.

I already know that the question will be asked in interviews due to the fact that I work for one of the oldest companies in the industry for another.

Good question. I usually start out positive about my current work experience. Say whatever I liked about position and say it’s a tough call to leave (even though it might not be).

Then I focus on why I like the new opportunity more.

Just say that you feel that your workspace is not a good fit for you. My fiancée quit her job because she was forced to do a two-person job alone. If the case was that everyone else was also doing the two-person job alone, that'd be different. While some others occasionally were alone, they weren't alone for all of their shifts, like she was. So, she quit, because it wasn't a good fit for her.

Be a little careful to not sound like you are complaining about the job too much. I took another job a year and a half after graduating and I told the interviewer that it was a toxic work environment but I was careful not to sound like I was blaming the company or any particular manager. I got the job because that guy himself came from the same background.
