Trending & News No, I was fortunate enough that my parents did not need to have to invest their time homeschooling me and my siblings.
I attended a good school and I pride myself to have been on the top of the students in my class. Attending school is the best way to learn to socialize and being with other children a great way to learn valuable lessons of life.
I would not have wanted to be homeschooled because of the lack of interactions with other children and I am thankful to my parents to have given me the opportunity to gain that kind of experience.
I went to school but learned very little there as I was far ahead of my grade level. I had read my textbooks by the end of September and was working about five years ahead of my grade level in math.
No, but when I first got to college, I wouldn't have blamed anyone for thinking I had been (or at least the stereotype).
I wasn’t homeschooled; I attended traditional schools all the way through university and my MBA.
However, in my work I’ve coached many homeschooled students transitioning into college and careers. What matters most isn’t *where* you learned, but whether you:
- Built strong reading, writing, and math foundations
- Learned to manage your own time
- Can work both independently and with others
If you tell me your situation (currently homeschooled or considering it), I can share specific strategies for study plans, socialization, and college/career preparation.

Homeschooling was not much of a thing when I was a child. I was not homeschooled. I am glad that I was not. Bad things happen in schools with children interacting with children, but bad things happen in life at times. You just have to learn to deal with it as appropriately as possible. In my opinion, homeschooling is often over-protective. I have lots of other objections to it also.
I went to Catholic grammar school and high school.
No, homeschooling was not a thing when I was a kid.
