Is my manager avoiding me after I reported a racist remark at work?

Long story short: I work at a call centre booking appointments for a good year now, and my manager is /has always been friendly with me. She even gave me cash to go buy coffee for her from downstairs our building….

my first week back to work I did ok and got a good amount of appointments, and my second week only 1 appointment and this week none so far… I’m always trying my very best to get leads.

Last week there was a bitch in the office who made a racist remark aimed towards me…. also there’s a loud obnoxious dude there who swears and says inappropriate things out loud and then people hang up the phone on me. My manager addressed the issue and claims that the girl apologized for her words and didn’t mean to offend me. She also said that upper management doesn’t wanna hear about it anymore either and that I have the option to switch my shifts…

The last few days my manager is avoiding one on one conversations with me and even lied about leaving the office when I wanted to go back to talk to her…

You have to understand when we have higher ups like a boss. A manager a supervisor just because they have that title doesn't mean that they are a leader and they know what they're doing

What she needs to do Is get everybody together in the same room And say listen people

I have a job to do you guys have a job to do and we need to do it all together to get the best results out of our shift we need to become a team and when we have little petty bullshit like this one of us fails we all fail

Now there's certain protocols that I can do to take care of this and I can start all over again getting new people we are a team we have to work as a team with no friction with no Envy with no bad feelings we have to become a team if we can't become a team do I have to reassemble my team because I'm not going to fail it's your guys's choice so I like you guys you're good hard workers there's no reason why we can't succeed together but if somebody breaks that link in the chain everything comes undone and I'm not going to have that so as of right now we all have a choice to make I hope you're on the same page as I am because if not I'm going to turn the page and get somebody else

So you have to show her or make her see that she is the leader not a boss not a supervisor not a manager but a leader so you need to have a talk with her and tell her as a leader that's what you expect from her you don't have to be pushy or Moody about it show her how to become a leader a better communicate she needs to take charge but she doesn't have to be snotty about it she just needs to lead and if she can't then maybe you need to go to the higher-ups above her and talk to them and say this is how you see it you take over that job

It seems like your manager is purposely avoiding you. Maybe she doesn't want to hear about any more of the problems going on so she doesn't have to deal with them. Try to make notes or take pics/videos about everything that is going on in case they ever try to blame you.

OR. HR probably told her not to fraternize with you anymore. Who knows what really happened. That's why it's a good idea to keep a firm boundary with your supervisors. Yes, you can be cordial, but try not to establish a friendship with them.
