I work in a parcel delivery company and lately I’m finding this place stressful as people will literally throw heavy boxes almost missing me and I also had trouble with any colleague telling me how to do my job but he will hide away to drink fizzy drinks or hide behind pallets to go on his phone

In my 20+ years coaching people, I’ve seen this pattern a lot.
You’re facing two issues: safety and disrespect.
1. Safety first
- Document incidents: dates, times, what happened, who saw it.
- Raise it calmly with your supervisor or health & safety rep. “Boxes are being thrown near me; I’m worried someone will get hurt.”
2. Coworker criticism
- Brief, calm response: “I’m following procedure. If you have an issue, let’s ask the supervisor.”
- Don’t argue or gossip; let his behavior expose itself.
3. Should you quit?
- Check: Is management responsive? Are there transfer options, different shifts, or roles?
- If nothing improves after you raise concerns, start actively looking elsewhere while you’re still employed.
- No job is worth ongoing risk and constant stress.
You’re not weak for leaving a toxic, unsafe environment; you’re protecting your health and long‑term career.
