How common is severe stress and depression among college students?

A happiness professor at Yale said online that 40% of college students were so depressed they believed they could not function and when I studied this statistic, google said the rate was over 40-46% that said they could not function properly due to depression.

The happiness professor said that 60% of students reported maximum stress and fear levels among college students at school and that 10% of college students had seriously considered suicide in the last 6 months.

Me, I was stressed out in high school, not in university, I found college studies to be over 10 times easier than high school and my grades were higher in university then they were in high school.

I think one reason I had low stress in college is that I was religious enough that I was not desperate for a relationship and many people cannot survive without the prospect of having people to date them. I was also okey with minimal social contact with others, as long as I was given low key associations with people, based on formality and respect, since I had spent most of my life without emotionally close connections with others. And since I was religious, I had a very powerful vision for my life that buffered all the unhappy aspects of it.
