I did, and it was…mixed, honestly.

I was nervous about everything: finding a date, renting a suit, not looking awkward. The night itself was fun but not magical—good music, bad punch, lots of smalltalk and photos. What mattered most was the feeling of “closing a chapter” with friends.

Looking back as a career and education advisor, what you remember isn’t the decorations; it’s who you went with, how you felt, and the stories you took away. It’s nice if you go, but it’s not life‑defining if you don’t.

Actually no I did not go. I wasn't all that much into the social scene in high school and mostly just hit up the books. There were a few girls in high school who expressed interest in me taking them but I kind of shyied away from it.

Yes! And it was a disaster!!

When my boyfriend and I were on the way to the prom, he lit up a joint and flicked the last of it out of the window and it came back in and landed on my lap and burned a big hole in my dress.

Then when we had our picture taken, (which I paid for), I had my eyes closed and asked if we could redo the picture but he said no because he didn't want to wait in line again.

Right after we ate, my friend, Patty and her date checked into a motel room.

My boyfriend had dropped some acid, drank beer 🍺 and smoked pot and was so stoned!

Then he wanted me to have sex with him and I said NO! I mean, Patty and her date were right there on top of the bed next to us.

So he got mad and left me there with them. Since we got there in his car we had to take the bus home the next morning.

Yes, my beautiful pictures came out and my eyes were closed.

I've never heard of any prom, so I doubt they existed in the 90s when I was at HS.

I did watch them happening in US media though. And I found the concept quite weird honestly lol, because a prom seems to be a forced party, whereas I don't see the appeal of forcing a party to happen. We did have parties whenever we wished during HS so that prom looked also redundant.

I did. I wore a tux, with ruffled pleats. My companion wore a long midnight blue gown with spaghetti straps and a deep neckline that showed off her impressive chest. We were stunning.
