On my clients’ accounts, that “security verification” banner usually disappears quickly once LinkedIn is sure the activity is legitimate—anywhere from a few minutes to a few days.
Common triggers: new device, VPN, many connection requests, or rapid profile changes.
Before uploading an ID, I suggest:
- Log out/in, clear cache, try another browser.
- Disable VPN and use a stable home/work connection.
- Wait 24–48 hours with minimal activity.
If LinkedIn explicitly says “upload ID to restore access,” you typically must comply or you’ll stay limited.
