Yes, it can be reasonable—but it depends on the situation and your options.
In my 20+ years coaching professionals, I’ve seen three patterns:
1. Temporary conflict: Misalignment, communication issues. Here, I suggest trying: direct conversation, clarifying expectations, involving HR, or a transfer.
2. Persistent disrespect/toxicity: Bullying, gaslighting, ethical issues. Protecting your mental health by leaving is absolutely valid.
3. Stalled growth: Constant conflict about work style or goals. Sometimes quitting is choosing a better fit.
Before deciding, map your options, your financial runway, and what you’ve already tried. Quitting to avoid *unhealthy* conflict is not weakness; it’s strategy.
