Loaded question, but what are some reasons why you personally think so many people try to start businesses and fail besides giving up too quickly?

Especially things like trying to have a successful YouTube channel, real estate, restaurant businesses, online stores, or even a business in which people help other business owners get more funding for their business

They didn't prepare for prices to get more expensive as time goes by. So what they are paying for merchandise to buy, and then sell, became larger than what they expected and suddenly couldn't afford.

They didn't investigate their buying audience. They assumed they had a great idea, however, it wasn't true in reality and they had to close shop.

They trusted the wrong people to be on their side and wish them success, when actually they didn't want them to be successful to begin with. They were sabotaged, even by their employees stealing from them, giving bad customer service that drove customers away.

They are too profit oriented, they dont care what the customer wants.

Example : you open a cafe. Neighborhood is friendly. Two to five people visit on weekly basis. They come with friends sometimes. You add a few items on menu but there is no growth.

You could take a survey or do Insta promotion or ask customers to rate you, but instead of spread AI generated pamphlets.

You are screwed.

usually because they see others having some success with it... and then, they fool themselves thinking that it could be "that easy"

when... it really isn't

even when you know how to, and have the resources to actually go for it, still isn't...

most people give up because they don't really like to work, they just want things a bit easier for themselves, lol

A lot could be the output. If you aren't getting the right payout to keep you afloat could be a reason to give up. Like if you have a restaurant business and the coming coming in isn’t enough to pay rent or salaries or run your home then its not worth investing in if the point is to make money

I’ve mentored many would‑be founders. Patterns repeat:

1. No real problem solved
They start from “What can make money?” instead of “Whose painful problem can I solve?”

2. Weak differentiation
Their YouTube, store, or service looks like everyone else’s. No clear reason to choose them.

3. Ignoring numbers
Don’t understand unit economics, cash flow, or how many views/customers they realistically need.

4. Skill mismatch
Great idea, but poor sales, marketing, or operations skills—and they don’t partner or learn.

5. Wrong expectations
Expect “six figures in six months,” get discouraged when the early grind is slow and messy.

I see the usual person with her pointless non-answer. Some sign bad leases they could never afford. Some just run out of cash before profits begin. Depending on the type, they need to advertise a little to gain momentum quickly and stand out from competition.

Most people start a business to give themselves a job. Those people aren't business focused. Just because you're a good chef or mechanic doesn't mean you should own a restaurant or a garage. You need someone business minded who can run it.

With low barriers to entry, and a potential for high rewards, it's going to attract those with low skills who aren't successful otherwise.  But that's ok.
