Should I study psychology and neuroscience or AI and product management?

A bachelor's degree in psychology followed by a master's or PhD in neuroscience? Or studying product management and doing a master's in artificial intelligence?

I’ve coached many students at this exact fork.

Ask yourself 3 things:

1. What problems do you want to spend your life on?
- Mind, behavior, brain → psych/neuro
- Building tech products, data-driven decisions → AI/product

2. How you like working:
- Research, patience, uncertainty, long training → psych + neuroscience
- Faster cycles, business impact, industry teams → AI + product

3. Risk/earning tolerance:
- Academia: more uncertain jobs, slower money
- Tech/product: more options, but also competitive

If torn, consider:
BSc in psychology + later master’s in data/AI (user research, UX, behavioral AI) – a powerful bridge.
