Was I too harsh setting boundaries with this chronically ill teen?

So, I am a one-on-one care provider to a young lady who has a heart condition. She is in 10th grade. She is mentally capable. There is nothing wrong with her in that area she's just physically a sick child. So her teachers have been trying to help her succeed and provide her with a good amount of time to get work done. So when we got to her class, she had none of her work done. Her teacher asked her why, and she came up with excuses. I've been personally noticing her on YouTube watching cartoons during class. So I told her teacher she hasn't been doing her work and has been watching YouTube videos. He sad thank you so much for that because I was feeling bad like is it me or is she taking advantage. I told him no, she's taking advantage. Then, in her next teacher history class, she had her earphones on watching YouTube while he was teaching. I told her ," Please be respectful of your teacher. You should not have your earphones on while he's teaching. If you fall behind in class, I will not be staying after school with you until you complete your work. You'll either have to repeat the class or your mom will have to come." Like I get she has a heart condition, but I feel at this point she's using it to get over on her teachers and to take advantage. At this point I'm starting to see the kid differently and not desiring to be their one on one as there are other kids who would love to go to school and learn that don't have the opportunity
