5 Musical Delights to Watch and Listen: Music Post #1

In these posts, I will post favorite songs of mine. I have gone through an extensive process to listen to songs, and rate them 1 to 5 stars, and these are favorites. These are not average songs, please give them a try. I will post the best YouTube video I can find of them. I chose 5 separate genres. Please tell me which you liked or didn't like. I don't care what opinion you post. Please give these a try.

1) Latin Jazz: Israel Cachao was a famous acoutic bassist/celloist.

This song in all its parts is amazing, including its start, the piano solo, and then the interplay between I think clarinet (my instrument) and trumpet (former instrument). Close to favorite song ever: Cachao " A Gozar Con Mi Combo "

2) Funk: James Brown "Night Train": so groovy.

I think tenor sax (based on what I've been told, but easily could be baritone sax) is so good:

3) Acoustic Guitar Magic: Rodrigo y Gabriela (who's female): "Diablo Rojo"

If you like acoustic guitar, you'd rarely see faster more amazing playing than this:

4) Classical: before you say I don't like classical, you may not have heard this Vivaldi ("Four Seasons") piece that is exciting and beautiful.

5) Techno: Js-16 "Stomp to My Beat": this track will get you moving.

The best one was the Vivaldi (but it's not from The Four Seasons, though). The first three songs were good too.

Worst one was the techno. Not into that stuff at all.

I knew somebody would call me on that. I put Four Seasons in quotes just because that's what he's most famous for. I actually don't understand all this classical nomenclature, like Op. Opus? The last techno song is pretty rocking. Techno and classical share similarities with emphasis on sounds, crescendos, and often both non-vocal (not always with techno). Again, curious about your own music take.

@sp33d A few weeks ago, I finally saw "Whiplash". I forget which drummer they were talking about the whole movie. The guy who had something thrown at his head? I swear one of the songs was Caravan in it. Had the same title, might be wrong. Rich looks like a drummer much more than Morelly. But Morelly's section with hand drumming the snare. I don't know if I'd seen that before. Right now, at 10:00 pm I'd normally be at a drum circle with about 5 other guys. Amazing how you can do a drum circle, and not really know how to play drums (though there are a few musicians in the group). It just comes naturally. I know Gene Krupa from Benny Goodman. You know who was a fairly modern good drumming group, Rusted Root. Make your own music take.

Thanks Roland. Thanks for listening. I watched the beginning of the video until became the song. I know the song well, I think it is on my 5 star list. The actual hand drum beginning sounded cool, really like Santana like beginning of Jingo (maybe next list). I think I would have liked Soul Train, that's its right?

Oh yeah, that's Soul Train. When I was really young, it was "the" dance show. As I got older it lost its appeal.

A guitarist from work turned me on to that. Really amazing. I didn't know originally it was two people (shows you how much Spanish I know). Very cool that it is a woman. That album has amazing guitar work that still sounds good while being virtuoso like.

You must be some kind of girl. Crazy angry rage. The background instruments weren't bad. He's not terrible singer. Like even more amped up angry Rage Against the Machine. That's probably first Marilyn Manson song I heard ever or ever in a long time. I think he may have had one hit on MTV or something. Heard his name plenty. I'll have to look for a video sometime.
