My Top 5 Favorite Songs From Non-English Cultures

Sometimes a song can speak to you even when you don't understand the words. Here's a list of my top 5 favorite songs that are not in English.

1. Abbas Jaafar - Ollon Eh (Tell them "yeah")

Origin: Lebanon

This is the only one in this list that I actually do understand (I'm actually Lebanese), and what I like about it besides the way it sounds is its meaning; basically it's about not giving a F@#! about what people say about you behind your back, just keep telling them "Yeah" (i.e pretending like you agree or care) and then just go and live your life however you want. Do what pleases YOU and not what pleases them. Kinda gangster if I may say so myself :P

2. Don Omar ft. Lucenzo - Danza Kuduro

Origin: Puerto Rico

3. Onetox - Ramukanji

Origin: Solomon Islands

This is an islander song and pretty much since I was young I've always loved a tropical island setting more than any other kind of landscape, so this song kinda makes me feel as if I'm on vacation. It's one of the reasons I loved Crash Bandicoot so much growing up (i.e the island setting).

4. Taeyang - Wedding Dress

Origin: South Korea

This one's romantic which I think is nice.

5. Maria Conchita - Vamos A Bailar

Origin: Venezuela

I only know this song from playing Scarface the game on PS2 lol (I miss those good ol' days haha).

So anyways, that's it from me. Hope y'all got a good glimpse into other types of cultures and their style of music :)

Peace out
