Whether we’re defending her from diva accusations to home wrecking.
Now let me say, I’m a grown man lmao. I do love her talent, her music, her work. However I’ve grown past the point of defending her a a person. Trust me, once upon a time I was up in those comment sections defending her like she was my best friend. At this point I’m mature enough to accept that she may not be the greatest person… ALLEGEDLY! 🙄🙄
Let’s dive the fuck in…
Diva Accusations
Since Ariana’s blow up year back in 2013-2014, she was known as a “diva” and extremely difficult to work with.
From other celebrities, to workers on her sets, to even her own fans, there are many people have had bad experiences with the singer. Some of these stories are as old as 2010-2011 back before she was a huge star.
One of the biggest stories was her being obsessed with the left side of her face, her “good” side. Don’t you DARE get a picture of her bad side…
News reporter Giulianna Rancic described one situation where Ariana pretty much elbowed her into the other side during an interview. She said the energy was very much “you either get on the other side, or we don’t have an interview.”
My thoughts
I believe it lol. And this is coming from someone who has closely followed Ariana since this era. If there are a hundred people who all have the same story…what’s the common denominator here?
Now I’m sure some stories are exaggerated to make a story, but there is still truth to them.
The left side of the face thing is 100% true. You can tell by watching her old music videos. Every scene is the left side of her face. Even the scenes where it looks like it’s the right, it’s literally just the left side mirrored.
You can tell that she’s become a lot more humble throughout the years. Even if you compare her body language from a 2014 interview vs. a 2024 interview. She doesn’t seem as stuck up as she used to be.
Donut-Gate
In July 2015, Ariana was caught on tape licking donuts that she didn’t pay for in a donut shop.
Her and her boyfriend are seen in the video laughing as they both take turns licking the donuts while the worker isn’t looking.
At one point, the worker shows her a tray of larger donuts which Ariana responds with
“What the fuck is that? I hate America. I hate Americans. That’s disgusting.”
This event also took place a few days after July 4th. So of course these comments didn’t sit well with Americans…
Ariana even did both a written and video apology explaining that she loves her country however she is disappointed in our poor choices of food.

Im more mad about her being rude to the worker. Which seems the be the part that people talk about the least.
I think you are the lowest of the low if you talk shit to food workers. I went out with someone who was rude to a McDonald’s worker in front of me and I never talked to them again lmao.
As a food worker myself, If I put down food in front of someone and they exclaim “what the fuck is that? That’s fucking disgusting,” i now hate this customer and don’t want to serve them anymore 💀💀💀
Well it certainly confirms the “rude” rumors.
Being Disrespectful in the Paris Catacombs
The Catacombs of Paris are underground ossuaries that hold the remains of more than 6 million people. It’s an area where you should remain quiet and respectful.
Ariana posted a video to her Instagram of her running around and joking in this area.
“The hardest working 23 year old on Earth”.
In 2018, Ariana posted a picture on Instagram with the caption saying “When you’re cute but you’re also the hardest working 23 year old human being on Earth”
It wasn’t long before Ariana got backlash. She was quickly reminded that she is in fact NOT the hardest working 23 year old human being on Earth…
Changing Races
A lot of people get confused as to what exact ethnicity Ariana is…a lot of people admit that they thought she was Hispanic for years. Not just because of her last name, but because of her skin color.
What exactly is Ariana’s true skin color though? We may never know!
Ariana has gotten a lot of backlash over the years for her use of spray tan that’s 15 shades darker than her natural skin color.
The internet especially found it crazy when she performed on stage with Nicki Minaj, an actual black woman, where they appeared to have the exact same skin color…
Ariana was accused of blackfishing. Which is when a non-black person alters their appearance to look black or mixed.
The tan along with the fact that she had a phase where she spoke in a blaccent and used AAVE.
Around 2020, she calmed it down with the tan and moved onto another look:

Mac Miller
Ariana and Mac Miller dated for about two years. After their relationship ended, she immediately started dating Pete Davidson. Her and Pete got engaged just a few weeks later.
Less than a year later, Mac passed away from a drug overdose. RIP 🥲
Many people believed that Ariana broke his heart which led to his overdose and death. Supposedly Mac’s fans even waited outside her apartment threatening her.
My thoughts:
I think the internet blaming his death on her is truly one of the most cruel things y’all have done to her 🥲
I’m sure she did everything she could to lead him into a better path. She even said herself that they’ve talked about the possibility of an overdose so many times. Not everyone can be helped and nobody is obligated to stay in a relationship with someone who refuses to help themself. Especially because Ariana was struggling with her own mental health at that time.
Yes I’m sure that her moving on quickly hurt him. But at the end of the day, he was a drug addict BEFORE they were together, WHILE they were together, and AFTER. His overdose was unfortunately inevitable. I’m sure she blamed herself enough and had many regrets… Leave her alone 🥲
Tiny BBQ Grill
In 2019, Ariana debuted her new tattoo written in Japanese. The tattoo was supposed to say 7 Rings, the name of her most successful song. However the translation wasn’t accurate…it actually translated to “Tiny BBQ Grill.”
Of course everyone proceeded to rip her to shreds.
Ariana defends herself by saying the tattoo was super painful so she had to tap out and exclude certain symbols. Which sounds like a bullshit excuse to me lol.
Ariana has since taken advice on how to fix the tattoo from her Japanese coach. However Japanese fans have pointed out that the translation is still not 100% accurate. Now it reads “Japanese bbq finger”
This led into a discussion on why you shouldn’t get tattoos in languages you don’t speak and how doing so is a form of cultural appropriation.
Cheating and Homewrecking
One thing about Ariana is that she’s NEVER single. As soon as one relationship ends, she’s professing her love for someone else just a couple weeks later.

Jai Brooks
Jai Brooks was a popular YouTuber back in 2013. He and Ariana dated for less than a year. He accused Ariana of cheating on him with Nathan Sykes, a member of The Wanted (who she started dating shortly after their break up).
Ariana denied the allegations and said he threatened to hurt her career in the past.
Jai talked about Ariana more recently and has nothing but nice things to say about her. So maybe the allegations really were a lie?
Naya Rivera
Naya Rivera (rest in peace) was Big Sean’s ex fiancé. She wrote in her book an encounter she had with miss ponytail during their relationship.

Pete Davidson

Ethan Slater
Ariana’s most recent and one of her biggest controversies to date..
In 2023, Ariana started dating her Wicked co-Star, Ethan Slater. The thing is he was married with a practically newborn child…
Page Six released an article about Ethan’s ex-wife where she says that Ariana is “not a girls girl” and that she was completely surprised when her high school sweetheart ended their marriage and ended up with Ariana shortly after..
However the same news source later retracts their statement and claims there is no evidence to support that there was any overlap. They also claim his ex wife is supposedly supportive of it.
So we have two contradicting articles from the same source…however I’d like the point out that the second article came out the same day, if not a couple days after, as Ariana’s new album…
That’s not a coincidence if you ask me. Sounds like her PR team paid them off to retract the statement and perfectly aligned it with the release of the album. That’s just me speculating though lol
She avoided talking about the topic for a while and still hasn’t addressed it head on. However she had made several statements here and there about how the media vilifies her and that you shouldn’t believe everything you read in tabloids.
Her Dream Dinner Guest is Jeffrey Dahmer
Ariana recently told a story of an old Q&A experience she had with younger fans.
A little girl asked who her dream dinner guest would be, dead or alive.
Ariana’s answer was infamous serial killer, Jeffrey Dahmer.
The internet thought this was an extremely tone-deaf and ignorant answer.
Even the family members of Dahmer’s victims had something to say:
“To me, it seems like she’s sick in her mind. It’s not fancy or funny to say you would have wanted to do dinner with him. It’s also not something you should say to young people, which she says she did," Shirley told TMZ.
Ariana has not responded to the backlash.
This is not the first time that she has received backlash for something related to murder victims.
she also got flack for laughing and joking about a friends Halloween costume. The costume being Jon Benet Ramsey, a young child who was sexually abused and murdered.
