On the Run: Timothy Busfield

I don't even know if this is in the mainstream news yet, but there's an arrest warrant out for Timothy Busfield, who is the husband of Melissa Gilbert, who was Laura Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie. He's a big TV director and was a TV star on thirtysomething in the 1980s and The West Wing in the 2000s.

They're saying he sexually abused two 11-year-old twins who were on a TV show he was directing. He is missing and they just brought in the U.S. Marshalls to hunt him down. I think he's hiding out with an attorney and a publicist until they figure out how to turn him in and what to say to the public.

Melissa Gilbert has taken down all of her social media. In November she posted a thing about sexual abuse of children, saying it was sexual abuse for the guy who played her husband Manly on the TV show to kiss her. He was 24 and she was 15, but I think the real abuse was Michael Landon putting them in that position. There was a lot of passionate kissing going on that you really didn't see on other shows at the time, so much so that I suspect it continued behind-the-scenes.

There are many other sexual abuse stories about Michael Landon that have been flying around Hollywood for many years, including about the girl who played Mary Ingalls, who would not talk to Michael Landon or Melissa Gilbert after the show was over, and she would not attend his funeral.

In fact, Mary Ingalls was in the audience of a Broadway show Melissa Gilbert was doing just last month, and they spoke for the first time in over 35 years. Unrelated to all of this, Betty Buckley, who was the mom on Eight is Enough and originated the role of Grizabella in CATS, was there in the audience also.

The Ma on Little House on the Prairie will not ever say a word about Michael Landon, but she did say she was paid very little money on that show. I think she should have said around the third season (through her agent), I want this much or I'm out of here, but she was afraid of Michael Landon. Fans would have gone crazy and they would have paid her anything to stay.

fwiw, at this point, I don't believe a word of it about Tim Busfield. I know Melissa Gilbert, who is notoriously difficult to be married to, as I intend to be, is the love of his life (they got married very old) and I see them out at restaurants in Malibu a lot and they always look very happy. I hope he didn't do it and gets his name cleared. But these days, you never know.

Melissa Sue Anderson is the other girl's name, I forgot.

It's been said that Michael Landon was a womanizing drunk for years. Those involved with Little House, said Landon and a few other cast members, drank all day while filming and would became moody..

This the first I've heard of Busfield's warrant, I'm somewhat familiar with him as an actor. He always seemed like a quiet and genuine man. I definitely won't judge and hope everything works out.

I am getting a little skeptical about sexually abuse stories. Because lately, they seem to be popping up everywhere about everyone. I'm starting to feel like, unless I know the people involved personally, I don't know if it is real or not.
