I'd mainly say through massive advertisements, religious beliefs of what's right and wrong, what the media portrays is "normal and correct", and what schools teach them. It's all about population control; that you want to keep the youth condensed to a limited amount of knowledge while getting them exposed to what society wants them to hear. For example, if you want the youth to buy your product, give them a reason why they should buy it via having a celebrity use it, making statements that it'll make you cooler, build up enough hype that it's a must have product and such. The youth are very good visual learners; show them what you want them to see and they'll likely respond in your favor, given you've done the research on how their mindsets work.

By this logic what ISN’T a means of brainwashing? We grow, we learn, we assimilate more and more, which only means we’re “brainwashed?”
