Pop stars need to be allowed to have more freedom to really express themselves... their creative vision.
The corporatized nature of the North American pop industry really limits how creative artists can be, because there’s a formula that has been “proven” to sell more records, more streams, etc. It’s why a lot of pop music sounds the same, share similar structures, and so forth... this compromises creativity and originality, so artists are never really allowed to shine or live up to their potential unless they are selling well, are well funded, or are able to find work-arounds within the industry business model that grants them more freedom.
If artists go with the flow, so to speak, they’ll have their 15 minutes of fame at least, but if they aren’t selling well, or do anything to make a lasting mark, they’ll drop off everyone’s radar. Everything kinda goes hand in hand... without something truly good and unique, a stand-out smash hit, how is anyone going to remember what “XYZ pop artist” did 5 years ago, ya know? Let alone 10...
Granted individual tastes and preferences factor in too, to a degree... that’s a big thing now with streaming services. There’s an infinite library of music that can be accessed with a click of a button now. Radio isn’t really as influential anymore in terms of impacting what people listen to... it’s much easier for people to fall into their own individual niches. Hard to explain...
I think it’s probably harder than ever to appeal to a wide audience now. It’s not the same industry that propelled Taylor Swift to mass appeal, or Drake... they’re riding the wave of their established success from the music industry of yesteryear. And because they have that history of selling, they get the proper funding to remain at the top. Now it’s a lot tougher to break-through into that level of success.
Just my general thoughts and speculation...

Any kind of artistic field comes down to your ability to make a product that people like. It was revealed that her big break (All About That Bass) was founded on copyright infringement. She stole the song, like flat out stole it, from some Korean band. Meghan Trainor doesn't have the talent to write her own music.
Cause she started making songs which she calls body love songs. which are actually skinny shaming songs
Her career was never anything special in my opinion

i think the problem for her is that she is trying to fit into the pop format when she began writing writing for all sorts of genres but certainly made music that was not strictly pop.
you can only fake it for so long. she probably just needs to sort of step back and re-invent because she clearly can write a decent song. but life as a pop star may not be for herBecause she sucks. She's always sucked. She just made it into the news that one time for that one song about weight. After the public from that died down that was kinda it for her.
I don't know, I think she's awsome... she's... unique, old fashioned, confident, fun. music and such changes and sometimes stuff works for decades sometimes for a year. she probably has to evolve.
Most modern pop stars are like that. Big news one day, forgotten about the next. One of the reasons is they don't have any music that can stand the test of time.
Because she has no talent, and she was know mostly because she was fat, because fat acceptance.
Because she sucks and people finally realize it
Idek who that is lmao
