I watch scary movies to be scared, not to be turned on.
Why do horror movies feature so much nudity?

Generally, the sense of absolute vulnerability in one's complete naked state.
In regards to sex scenes, that is complete freedom (freedom being; completely naked and comfortable in one's own skin and to express oneself in a free spiritual nature) yet that freedom is completely taken away, absolutely most definitely diminished when an entity so pure and evil takes that freedom away.
It's part of the tradition in horror films, hence leading to the first rule of surviving a horror film: no sex, because sex equals death, according to Randy from Scream.
Ohh I see.
Haha I would love to see that rule book on how to survive a horror film. Wanna be prepared if I ever find myself trapped in a movie.
May not be a rule book, but close enough

This is amazing lol. Thank you sharing your wisdom with me *bows*.
But seriously, to answer your question, it's just part of the tradition of the horror movie trope, goes as far back as the 70s I think, though not every horror movie has nudity.
Sex appeal because sex sells!
But, I'd rather agree with this

guy! :)
@OctaviaWoods: Thank you for the MHGirl pick. :)
Mostly bc they can, seeing as they'll get that 16/18+ rating anyways.

Well, with slashers in particular, it has just become almost traditional. Originally it was to appeal to the target demographic, that being young adults.
If you are looking for something that's actually scary why are you watching slasher flicks?
I just liked that meme ;<
But, if you have any movie recommendations please list them~
The Conjuring series is pretty good so is Insidious. Annabelle 1 & 2. Lights Out. They are all semi-scary.
Hard candy
What lies beneath
Single white female
The uninvited

Thank you very much!
Sure thing. Also, hard candy can be hard to watch but it's such a good movie. And who doesn't love Ellen Page?
@OctaviaWoods you should watch some thrillers too like Prisoners.
Whether it's nudity, excessive violence, or never-ending car crashes... it's a sign of shitty writing and a non-existent plot.
Because they are so poorly written , they need something to keep guys watching them
Thank god I don't watch movies much. I used to watch "Haunted" on discovery channel on TV to get scared haha maybe you should give that a try. Their episodes are 45 mins long.
It a set up to get guys laid first they scare the girls so they hold their guy closer to feel safe and protected then splash in some nudity to start the juices flowing
You know you like it thats why you are watching it we all know those 80s slasher movies have sex and skinny dippin scenes
Maybe it is trying to play into people's irrational fear of nudity. You know, like how being naked in public is one of the most common dreams people have.
because horror movies have blood in them and what else has blood? a girl on her period! they make a perfect combo!!
they have to throw in the boobies and stuff to balance out the excess of blood and gore. It's no fun to spend 2 hours on a movie and not get a boner one time.
What? I’ve never seen a sex scene in a horror movie.
Oh wait, there was some in one. But that’s it. I’ve just seen it in one out of all the horror movies I’ve watched.
It’s visceral? Sex, blood and gore sells? dunno
Because they're marketed towards teenage boys
They are market towards Teenage girls , that is who watches them. They are trying to get more males to watch
Those are mostly 80s movies
