Why do the new Witcher fans annoy me?

I read the books, i played the games hell i grew up with the books and i love them. I'm very happy that Netflix decided to bring this amazing book franchise to the "little" screen (french expression saying that the Big screen is the movies the little screen is the TV).

But why oh why do people who just saw the series and claim to be fans piss me off?

Honestly? I just love that it got a show and what looks like a sizable budget, sure, a lot is left half-explained, never brought up at all, or skipped over compared to the books and video games (I played Witcher III first)

Either way, you now have people you can share your insights with, or argue about any points you like, and who is right, what version is right. Also a lot of them may annoy you because as one of my friend's told me, she only watches it for Henry Cavill half dressed with a woman every episode or so, and it's the second thing me and her husband nerd out on that she supports entirely for that reason lol

Yeah same here. I think it's partly us with the 'I liked it before it became cool' deal and the effort that was put into learning the lore (game quests, books etc) as opposed to it being there in a quick way for the new 'hardcore' fans.

Then of course people jumping on the hype train because it's becoming popular.

I like the enthusiasm and that my now pointless witcher knowledge has made me 'cool' but meh, I put in hours to get to this level, you can't just watch a season and expect to be on my level betch 😅

I seen my ex boyfriend play it so yeah I'm a fan plus the mythology. Didn't know it was a book series... I may need to look into them... But I have yet to see the show just yet...

They're fans of the series don't be upset that they're broadening it and I think because they aren't as invested jn as you are you're annoyed and jealous or sharing

Because of the lack of effort. You spent a bunch of time and effort into the show, now someone comes along, watches a little tv show and now... Big fan...

i don't know i just hate how they say "omg i love the witcher, but why does Geralt hold such a grudge against that red haired woman in the woods?"... they say they're fans but don't try to look for answers, can't even tell me who the author is or how to pronounce his name correctly... pseudo fans piss me off
