The middle picture is from a scene from the original red dawn and he is firing a DShk or Soviet heavy machine gun or is he your job is to figure out which he is firing the M60 or DShk

It's supposed to be a DSHK (we usually say it as "dooshka") but it looks like it's either something else modified to look like one, or it's a DShk that has been modified to look abnormal. They are WAY bigger and heavier than M60s, more comparable to the M2 in terms of size and function. The Soviet equivalent to the M60 would be the first generation of the PKM, or maybe the RPD that predated both.

It’s an M60 because we couldn’t get any Soviet weapons back then.

It’s actually neither, Brandon Herrera did an excelent analysis of Red Dawn. It’s supposed to be a DSHK, butI think they frankensteined a Swedish MG to look like one. I know the “AKs” in the movie are actually Swedish Valmets, but I forget what the DSHKs were made out of.

Going with M60, I found a small thing online that said some M60Ds were used in the movie and it looks similar to one.
