Every living thing on this planet is energy when we listen to music whether it's fast or slow or sad its energy through vibration we were sad we have a very low-key vibration when we talk true vibration vibration is energy in music there's different tones who produced every vibration when we are sad or if we are upset or if we are ground up different music different tones connect with our feelings and our vibrations it's like making love with somebody it's two energies making love connecting being one same with vibrations different tone vibrations connect with our vibrations when we feeling an emotion it's actually very interesting how it works but it's like everything else in this world if you were at a concert and just rocking out more likely you're probably head thing different toes different vibrations that's why it's nice and ties to have quiet time time alone turning these vibrations

It works as a therapy. Some people like to talk with someone and provoke the feelings out that way, some people like to listen to sad music. Personally I don't like either, but I just sit quietly and milk the bad feelings out by thinking.
I always hated when people would say "you have to talk about your feelings" and I never wanted to and I didn't understand why would people want to listen to sad music but now I realize those are just different methods for the same purpose and those just weren't my preferred methods.
It touches us. Sadness is not always bad, it can be bitter sweet. Beautiful yet sad. It is only natural to feel down now and then and music can influence and bring up some feelings.
Indulging yourself into it after for example a break up or death is at least not harmful. The main course for you to be sad are not songs or movies alone. I do think it is healthful to accept being sad in such situations and if music can help to do that it can be the way for some.
It is healthy. Getting our sad feels out is a release for us just like an orgasm.

I think because we sometimes want to be comforted by others that stand in need of comfort. As if to say "I feel your sadness too"
There are so many genres in music and they all have sad songs
In them. The great ones really tug at the heart and most of the
Time the person can see themselves in that of similar situation.I don't like it, but it serves as a vehicle of emotional release and understanding, like crying or venting.
@gwenhwyfar is completely 100% right. Like literally: our brain releases/produces a very very healthy chemical when we listen to sad music.
The lyrics are beautiful and speech to me on a deep level at times
