Comedian Norm Macdonald Dead after 9 year battle with cancer. Did you enjoy his work?

I’m sick about this one. Probably in my Top 5 favorite comedians. Just loved his dry sense of humor. Norm was a comedian’s comedian. I think a lot of people didn’t “get” him, and I would posit that THEY likely don’t “get” comedy as an art if that were the case. Dirty Work is one of my favorite movies, and even Screwed, I liked that despite it being pretty objectively bad,

Absolutely crushed the topical humor fodder of the mid-90s: the OJ trial, Michael Jackson hitting his weirdness stride, Bill Clinton’s various antics, etc.

I almost liked his jokes best when the audience didn’t get it and he’d just handle the uncomfortable silence perfectly. Just a great talent that will be sorely missed by fans and the comedy game in general. RIP🙏
He reminded me a lot of Phil Hartman
Phil Hartman was great too. Really felt his absence on The Simpsons, which is saying something since he only voiced secondary or tertiary characters.
@WhiteSteve I think he took after Johnny Carson.
He was one of my favorites on SNL with an almost child-like attitude while delivering very adult jokes. Died too young. RIP.
I've watched a lot of his comedy clips on youtube.
He was incredibly underrated.
Other big name comedians saw Norm Macdonald as a real comedic genius.
Best of the best.
I did enjoy his work. SNL, Dirty Work. He was a funny guy. May he rest in peace.

Enjoy?
Yes and no.
I've seen old stand up comedy acts he did long before he went on SNL. I thought those were funny.
I didn't think he was funny on SNL and I haven't like much of what he has done since then. I liked his stand up work and old clips from the 90's are all I've seen of those.
I thought he was one of the BEST people to interview! Always so unpredictable! Now his stand up I wasn't as big a fan of. He was one of the last few people to truly push the agenda for free speech. He always said what he wanted to say regardless of consequences! One of the sharpest tongues ever with one of the kindest hearts and THE best storyteller ever... you will be missed Norm.
While I wasn't a huge fan of Norm, he did get me to laugh a good amount. Shitty way to go, but at least he's no longer in pain.
Norm was absolutely hilarious. His reserved, deadpan style may not have made him a big household name, but anyone who loved comedy will understand his genius, and his commitment.
I'm very sorry to know that he's gone.
No. Wasn't he the sadist that gave the world the terrible sitcom Rosanne?
The sitcom industry has never recovered.
Actually no
That's sad news. I didn't know he did one of the voices on the Fairly Oddparents. Loved their Christmas episode, where Timmy wished it could be Christmas every day.
Yeah, I enjoyed his work.
It’s a tragedy, RIP legend
Truthfully, I knew who he was but I do not think I ever saw him in anything. SNL stopped being funny a long time ago.
I was a fan I’m sad he’s gone now. I had no idea he was even sick. But he’s been out of the public eye for around a year I guess things turned for the worse pretty quick.
I met him many years ago, got to shake his hand and talk with him for a short time.. Incredibly good guy.. Loved his comedy, and his movie appearances.. So sad..
Very sad, Norm was hilarious! My other favorite comedian Trevor Moore died last month, sad.. but we should focus on their legacy’s they created and not so much on their deaths.
Loved him in Fairly Odd Parents had no idea he was ill 9 years wow one hell of a battle very sad
Norm had a really strange sense of comedy. Sometimes his jokes sound like they didn't make any sense but you couldn't help but laugh anyway. RIP Norm.
I am not glad to hear that anyone has died, but I was not a fan of his comedy.
He was funny, not a huge fan but still his passing is tragic
He was a great mentor of mine with a positive attitude
"lonelyheart"?
Is that a Beatles reference?
"We're Sergeant Peppers LONELY HEART'S band..."
It sucks! He has been one of my favorite comedians. RIP.
yes i saw this. im so sad about it. damn he was the best!
Well, I hated all the OJ jokes, so it took me a while to get past that and appreciate his later work, but he WAS talented.
Yeah I was surprised that he died, didn’t know he was battling cancer, he had a unique voice and was really funny
