My personal favorite is modern metal, but I grew up with my parents playing rock so I enjoy it. I tend to prefer modern rock over classic though. Partially, that is due to me liking modern digital/multi-track mixing in DAWs more than what was possible in the pure analog days. That being said, there are some absolute banger classic songs out there.

I like the old rap, 90's/early '00's, but I grew up w/a hippie mom so I also like Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, and Santana. She also played a lot of '70's/'80's funk so I know the rappers rarely make their own beats.. but I still like a lot of songs. And if a person criticizes rappers for just talking about sex, drugs, and money.. listen to Ozzy, Led Zepplin, or the Rolling Stones.. Let's play some Eric Clapton "Cocaine" for this generation! lol
