What would your version of Hell be like?

Now I wanna go more into detail here. See, this question was inspired by the epic poem, The Divine Comedy. But most people only really care about the first part, Inferno.

In Inferno, the writer Dante Alighieri goes on a journey through Hell and sees the various (and very ironic) punishments for sinners in it. His guide is Virgil, a Roman poet that he really looked up to. Some creatures and people from Greek mythology also appear throughout Hell.

In this question, I'm basically asking you what YOUR version of the Inferno is! Which real person, whether they're famous/historical figures or just a person you know personally, would be your tour guide through Hell?

And what would be the ironic punishments in your personal circles of Hell? The circles (except Limbo) and their sections are listed below! Have fun!

• Violence (Against others, themselves, and optionally God)
• Fraud (You decide how many punishments for types of fraud and deceit there are)

For whom I am: Mine would be Lust and possibly Wrath. I would not know who my tour guide through hell would be; I think it'd be uncertain who.
Since I am agnostic, my view of hell varies. It could be like Hades' in Lore Olympus, or like in the TV Show, Lucifer, where people who are sent to hell, have their own hell loop. So, their hell could be a death loop (a loop which one keeps reliving the day they died), or the hell loop would loop the days leading up to one's death. Lucifer said that they're in hell because they have guilts. In later episodes and seasons, it has been found out that once you overcome your guilt (s), you will go to heaven.

My image of hell would be just like the image of the living. Like, hell would have houses and buildings and everything else just like the living has. The "sun" 50% dim when it is daytime and the sky turns red whenever it is nighttime. It'd be a quiet place (not eerily quiet to the point where it makes your ears ring). Hell wouldn't have any schools because what's the purpose?
My punishment in hell would be doing something until I am sick of it. If I refuse to keep doing after I become sick and tired of the task or activity, I would get stabbed multiple times. They will do it until I am used to it. Then I'd have to go right back in doing that task. If I refuse to do it, they will do the same torture, but this time, dismembering. Since I'm in hell, I won't die; I'd grow back in a painful process. After they are bored of me doing the same task or activity, then they'll give me a new one. Same thing happens once I get tired of it and refuse to do it.

If hell was made of things that were done to me: Treachery. I'd have to go through everything again.

I have a difficult time with the concept of hell since it doesn't make any sense to me to seek to cause eternal suffering to anyone. I think if the universe was created by some empathetic being, then hell would be a temporary place designed to rehabilitate people towards good.

So I picture it like a temporary corrective facility and possibly with a psychologist teaching people to value honesty and goodness and turn their counter-productive thoughts into productive ones. If there's a supreme psychologist, then I think they would take into account the nature of the person's worst temptations like gluttony, lust, greed, wrath, etc, and treat them accordingly.

Punishment and rehabilitation are synonymous ideas to me, so to speak. I don't exclude very harsh forms of rehabilitation. Some people need harsh treatment in order to learn from their mistakes; it depends on the person. So it might involve its share of great suffering for some, but the whole point as I see it is to correct their bad behavior.

A version that I’ve found quite frightening of hell is one of it being desolate, dark, and cold.


Just darkness and icy for endless miles.
