+1 yI actually used to be a pretty decent singer and especially dancer. I think I even scored a lot of girls that way.
But I seem to have lost my touch because I jump out of the shower these days after singing twirling my bath towel around and throwing it on top of my head while singing and dancing and she always responds, "You used to be the best singer and dancer. What happened? I went from being married to a cool guy to a complete dork!"
I tell her that I've become so skillful that I'm no longer appreciated by the mainstream. Like I'm such a genius in terms of the way I sing and dance that now only the smallest people can appreciate it, and she's not brilliant enough to be one of them. But in all fairness, maybe I've become a bit rusty.
I used to be a badass dancer though and at least a decent singer able to draw crowds.02 Reply- +1 y

+1 yAlmost every last one. Don't believe me? Go to a kindergarten and ask them how many of THEM can sing or dance- they'll ALL say they can. At some point, people start thinking that if they can't do something well, they shouldn't bother at all. But they can.

+1 yI like to pretend that I'm good at both of them, but I really am not lol.
About singers, yes some of them are just naturally gifted, but there are singers who worked really hard to sound like they do today. So, you can learn to sing too, just like dancing.17 Reply- +1 y
Well yea with vocal warm ups and exercises but comparing it to actual exercise, there's no comparison 🤣

I always sound great with headphones on while listening to music then to take them off and sound like a dying animal.
- +1 y
Yeah, but it still takes time and a lot of dedication.
Personally, I prefer dancers and admire them, but singers work too. - +1 y
Fair enough

@UniquelyBasic 😂😂 What do you usually sing? It must be some Bieber's song 😆
If it makes you feel better, I only know how to sing one song (like not sounding like a dying animal when I'm singing), other than that I'm quite awful at singing 😂 I never sang in front of anyone because I really dislike my voice 😂
But hey, there is autotune! We can always have a career in today's industry. You can sing and I'll write songs 😆 - +1 y
Yes, Im secretly a bieber fan and I sing his song Baby all the time even in the shower. We would make a great music duo and go on tour and make billions. 😂😂
- +1 y
@UniquelyBasic All these stars would immediately retire because of us taking over. They have nothing on us 😏
+1 yI think that it's more common people to sing than dance. But yeah, many people. The actual peaople who can make a living out of it and become famous is like 5%

How do you know that?
- +1 y
Go to LA and walk the streets. Millions of good singers on the streets, join a chorus competition (hella big), etc.
While doing my vocational guidance class, one singer came to give us a lecture and she told us that if we loved singing as a career merely for singing but not for the money you're in the right place.
I researched a lot about it and it's really sad - +1 y
I feel like the reason of that is cause of publicity, it's hard to get out there and of course, lots of competition
- +1 y
Yeah, it's because of competition and basically you need to have like a really good talent in other things , your song to be played a lot that gets fame, or a famous relative.
- +1 y
Yea nowadays its hard to even be considered talented with certain skills

So what type of dancing do you do... when people aren't around? I feel like if you can dance, people should see it, it's like hiding a talent lol

What type of dancing, ballet, hip hop, flamenco?
- +1 y
I’ve done some ballet and hip hop, but mainly I focus on jazz and lyrical/contemporary.
- +1 y
Social dancing, on the other hand, is not my thing.
- +1 y
Jazz? I gotta say I didn't expect that, ima search that up later cause I didn't think you can dance to jazz, I know you can move to jazz but dance, that's new knowledge to me
- +1 y
No, jazz dance is entirely different from jazz music. Usually it’s done to rock or pop music and the style is sassy and energetic.
- +1 y
There are many substyles of jazz, but here are a few examples. You don’t have to watch every video all the way through but I thought I’d save you the time of having to look it up yourself haha
- +1 y
That's not at all what I expected, I was expecting some do do doo dooo do type of thing and I see this bloodthirsty call of duty kill streak dancing lol
They couldn't give those dudes some more of a masculine choreography tho, that's when I was like alright that's enough of that lol
Why do they call it jazz then? 🤣 - +1 y
The dude actually was the choreographer 😂 It’s called jazz dance because it started developing at the same time as jazz music.
- +1 y
Homie need a new hobby, I still don't see why it's called jazz if it's not jazz tho lol
- +1 y
It used to be associated with jazz music, but evolved over time. Why does he need a new hobby? I think he’s a great dancer!
- +1 y
His choreography seems a bit feminine for dude dancers maybe I'm just not used to the style I guess
- +1 y
Yeah a lot of guys use feminine dance moves because they look sassier that way.
- +1 y
But why would a guy wanna look sassy tho, I understand women wanting to be sassy but dudes? I don't know lol
- +1 y
Some guys have big personalities. Honestly, I admire their confidence.
- +1 y
Yep but in the world of men, it's considered feminine and it can mess with someone's masculinity, it's just something women don't gotta worry about because they can be feminine and masculine and no one cares, but if they are doing what they like then I guess they shouldn't care what people say
- +1 y
In the dance world we don't really care either way 😂 Men can be as feminine as they want
- +1 y
Sadly the dance world is a community in the real world 😂
