What do you think about this new anime: My Dress Up Darling?

personally I can't get into new anime. Pretty much anything post 2010. You can only watch so many Harem Slice of life coming of age romance comedies before the formula gets stale. I have been fleshing out my Manga collection lately though since my oldest son got into reading Demon Slayer. I bought him the collection and then I started reading it after he was done with it. I used to collect manga and anime then kinda stopped ( pregnancy and marriage and all that kinda do that to ya) so now I bought all of Berzerk the rest of the volumes of AKIRA that I was missing and pretty much everything Junji Ito I can get my hands on ( I love horror comics managa movies anime)

I think it's cute but that's about it. I did enjoy watching it

its cute, it scratches the itch of "i want something simple that would make me smile and feel light hearted". its not amazing in any way but i can't find anything bad with it. the characters are understandable and don't twist logic to fit the plot, the art is good, nice pacing, and the ecchi isn't overbearing, just enough to show the tension it creates in the situation (which would fit real life, unlike to love ru for example).
best sumery i can give is the base material was mediocre and was executed in the best way possible. its a solid 8.

a guy who trains making classic japanese dolls with his grandpa starts helping one of the popular girls with her cosplay hobby. which he then gets more into the people and the world of cosplay.
its slice of life, romance with a bit of comedy.
