Girls, Should male Kid protagonist characters exist in Hollywood?

kid protagonists? ehh... unless it's a nonfiction story, i think it's better when the mc is 16+. or at least, 16+ when most of the action happens.

anne frank is realistic though, kid protagonists are fine if they're nonfiction. matilda is fine for a children's book i guess, plus there's not magic/serious action going on there. i don't remember mowgli very much, and I don't know 3 ninjas.
