What was one movie you had the hardest time understanding?

I don't get most films that come from Zack Snyder and M. Night Shyamalan. I mean I understand the message and point as well as a lot of the symbolism but what I don't understand is the appeal.

Back to the Future and Blast from the Part would NOT be included- they were very straightforward.

I thought it was hilarious -- especially the scene of him spinning around with a shotgun. It's just so ridiculous and absurd. :-D I'm a crazy person though.

Lanthimos' comedy goes really dark but I think the way the characters just behave and speak takes me out so much from immersing myself in the drama that I only see absurdity and humor. If I was a filmmaker in another life, I'd want to make films like that! :-D

I don't have much of an attention span so I gave up on the movie "Inception" pretty quickly and didn't really finish it.
I also didn't pay enough attention to understand the Jennifer Lopez movie "The Cell" back when I was young. I just watched it the other day on tv and understood it this time and I was like "Wow, what a cool movie." LoL!

I tried to watch Inception 3 times. Its just so boring. I only liked the Doctor Strange looking moments of it. I loved The Cell as a kid. One similar to it was Ticking Clock with Cuba Gooding Jr

Yeah Inception for me is one of those movies where Leonardo Dicaprio went off the deep end. LoL!
When I saw the Cell the other day I was amazed at how cool the visuals are in it, and JLo was really quite hot in that. I feel like that movie was like a dark music video. Like something Marilyn Manson or 9 Inch Nails would make a video out of.
Anyway, it was cool and I felt stupid for not being i to it back when it came out. I kinda missed the boat on that one.

The only Leo movies i can sit through are Catch Me If You Can and Man in the Iron Mask. And yes that video definitely gave Marilyn Manson meets Boy George

Inception is actually one of my least favorites from Nolan and The Cell was just boring to me. I didn't find the imagery or presentation anywhere near as disturbing as I think was intended to hammer in the horror of navigating a serial killer's mind. I thought it cheesy above all else.

Overall I found the cell to be like a big showcase of Jennifer Lopez in different costumes and scenes.
It was kind of artsy and weird. Of course I think Jennifer Lopez is very beautiful so a movie like The Cell is probably most entertaining if you have a celebrity crush on her.

I think I kinda liked J-Lo still as an actress back then. At least she didn't wear me out with her acting just yet after seeing films like Selena. :-D But I don't know, I just didn't find the film to be horrific or disturbing at all to my taste as with the case of, say, Se7en or Silence of the Lambs. It just seemed off. Disney Land stuff! :-D

Yeah back then when it came out I didn't think much of it. I think I was so used to seeing her everywhere back then so The Cell was just kind of overkill at the time.
Then 22 years later I watched it on my big flat screen and I was like "DAMN SHE WAS HOT!!"

Something which gave me vices like The Cell but actually succeeded to disturb me a lot and plant lingering thoughts in my head long after was Possessor. I think that one succeeded in many respects where I thought The Cell failed (for me, anyway):

Wow, I never heard of that one. I see Ned Stark from Game of Thrones is in it.
They said that it's "Deeply immersive." That sounds an awful lot like I have to pay attention. LoL!
Not sure if my attention span will make it, teachers always said that I was easily distracted by girls. I hope there's lots of women in that movie so I can stay focused.

It's very odd but a real body horror type of film. It seems to divide critics a lot in part because the cinematography is so odd as you can see already in the trailer. The shots are framed in bizarre and uncomfortable ways but I think it's a very deliberate choice. It's kind of the cusp of what I consider weird in the way I like vs. too weird that I don't. :-D

Well it looks pretty cool. I guess I don't have much experience with the Sci-Fi genre to be honest.
I'm usually more into movies like The Town, Out of the furnace, The Fighter and then a bunch of random comedies, horror, action, romance, dramas etc.
