My friend showed me this movie last night and I literally can’t stop thinking of the ending. It’s making me sad as fuck…

nobody got a happy ending. Especially the mom :(( that’s what’s really getting me. Fuck the other characters, their situations were messed up but they put themselves into those situations. The mom didn’t. All she wanted was to wear her red dress…that’s all 😭

it’s a really good movie. However I’m never watching it again lol.

never thought a Jared Leto movie would make me cry but here we are 💀

My friend just showed me another fucked up movie lol. This one messed me up even more because it was a little bit TOO relatable.
It was called Mysterious Skin and it basically went through the aftermath of the main characters getting molested as kids. it showed a very accurate and realistic portrayal of the effects of being sexual assaulted.
(Spoilers kinda) Like one kid turned out to be hyper sexual and even went on to molest others himself while the other completely suppressed it

The Wizard Of Oz is & will always be a movie that really messed me up. Everything was lollipops & candy drops & all hell broke loose. First there was a killer tornado & after that Dorothy’s house was sucked up into the vortex & when it landed & death took place & unfortunately The Wicked Witch Of The East died & to top it off the Evil Bitch Dorothy stole her shoes. After that Dorothy went on a quest with her yellow brick road gang to see a mob boss & he put a hit out on the Wicked Witch Of The West. After that a wonder lady was murdered by Dorothy with a bucket of water & after that Dorothy stole her broom. Fuck you Dorothy & your red devil shoes.

Lead paint on the tin man that made him sick, also the paint on the witch & also when she went up in a fireball on the yellow brick road she got burned. Rumor also has it that a munchkin hung himself.

Yes all that and the way they treated Judy. They made her feel fat and ugly and basically made her starve herself. Her diet was just black coffee, cigarettes, and diet pills. They treated her terribly. She was only like 16 years too.

On some tapes or dvds you can see the guy hang himself in background. Not a munchkin. A set designer, wife filed for divorce. You can see 2 guys get him off rope. Wasn't lead paint. It was aluminium dust. Actor was Buddy Ebsen yes Uncle Jed. The witch that all correct.
In addition if you start Dark Side of the Moon at right time it'll go along with movie. After lion roars 2nd time I think.

That’s actually why I watched the movie I posted in the question. My friend and I were watching a Judy Garland movie and we were talking about the pills she took and everything.
Then he told me about Requiem for a Dream cause one of the characters story’s revolves around her getting addicted to diet pills

12 years a slave.

That movie was a punch in the stomach to me. Because it captured the hopelessness of being a slave. I'm not saying anyone has a right to earn another person. But I think we as a society look down on the poor and uneducated as deserving thier lot somehow (I think we do that with the working poor today).

But in this movie you have an educated black man (Solomon Northup) whi drugged and kidnapped by a couple of white slave traders, taken south and sold. And because he was a black man in the south during slavery no one would listen to him when they told him he was free. To make matters worse he's highly educated. He has knowledge of engineering which his slave masters are surprised by, exploit, but are then later enraged that a slave is more educated then them and beat him for it. After a while Solomon comes to understand he needs to suppress his talents and be very careful who he talks to. Because he knows if he can just get word back north he's a free man wrongfully enslaved he has whie friends in the north who'll come for him. But everytime he tries he's beat for it. Finally he's able to get help from a Christian man played by Brad Pitt to deliver his message. And his friends come down south and secure his release much to the chagrin of his slaveowners.

Like I say I brought up the working poor today. Because I think this movie did a great job of driving home a point I never fully understood before. If you were black during the time of slavery you were considered less than human. Even if you escaped and went north. You could still be kidnapped/captured and brought back. You do not have rights of a common man. You can't run away to a safe place. Because there really was no sage place to run to. This guy lost 12 years of his life from his family to some b. s.

I felt dirty and physically sick after watching this movie.

I’ve watched Requiem for a Dream and it was sad that nobody had a happy ending, I really didn’t expect it. The mother especially did not deserve it. The first movie that comes to mind for me that was really messed up was The Lovely Bones. I had a hard time getting through it because, while it is a good movie, it literally made me sick to more core and my heart broke for the main character and her family.

Another one was First They Killed My Father. I watched it with my boyfriend since he is Cambodian and that movie pretty much sums up what a lot of his family lived through and it was pretty horrific knowing that happened so recently and that it also happened to his parents. I honestly didn’t even know that had happened until we dated and it is insane for the people who survived it

I remember. I thought in the end if was all going to work out for them. Seeing Jennifer Connelly's charcter doing drugs and performing sex acts with another woman using a double ended dildo for Wallstreet bankers drug out of her mind to get drug money.

Jennifer Connelly has got to be one of the hottest women in history. Great actress too, in some great movies. Was glad to see her in Maverick as Penny Benjamin the Admiral's daughter.

I was wondering the same thing. Who ever wrote that movie script, seemed to be completely unaware of all the films before it. Final Chapters are supposed to revisit the previous storylines and then tie them up together. Corey's role was in my guess just a mske the audiance think he is the main villsins sun but he was just a human toy to rick roll the audiances.
