2. Not all song is about sex
3. authentic vocals without autotune
There was maybe a time where I would’ve agreed with you, but I don’t feel this way at all, to be honest.
A lot of old music, even the so called “classics” have been played to death at this point. I don’t say this to downplay old music or anything. A lot of it is legitimately great, but at what point do people move on? At what point do people challenge their own perceptions and seek out NEW music? And actually look for it, beyond the hyper-mainstream?
I use this artist as an example a lot these days, but I think for good reason… I think he’s a great artist of our time…
Is this “artificial” music? I don’t think so… I find it incredibly genuine and authentic.
Yes, there are some good artists still now, but the mainstream music industry became garbage. Most popular rap, hip-hop, and pop singers' voices are crap without autotune.
It’s kind of a fine line though. Everyone is pitch-corrected. It’s basically the standard, routine production… other times artists use autotune and vocal effects as an artistic decision.
I don’t think that sort of thing can necessarily outright save a bad vocal take. No, not every artist is Freddie Mercury or peak Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston or whatever, but in my opinion, you don’t have to be.
What I find cool about this Porter Robinson stuff, it’s like even if he hated his own voice, you could pitch shift yourself or manipulate your voice to sound however you want. Feminine or more masculine. It’s a pretty exciting and empowering idea. Anyone could sing and theoretically sound however they want. I guess it just depends if you think that’s a good thing or not.
Most music from every single time period is shit, you just have to dig all the good songs up from that pile of shit if you want something good to listen to.
I find it more appealing than most of today's mainstream music. I often find myself listening to modern nonmainstream.

Of course.. I dk much about rock music in this generation, but I'm sure it sucks. Rap today is garbage. Samples old beats/lyrics and they still make a lot of money. I can be a rapper!
Depends on where you look and what taste in music you have
I've heard some great songs that were made pretty recently but they weren't mainstream
Yes, there are few artists there, good but widely unpopular. People's taste in music overall degraded.
EVERYONE feels that way. Except for the crazy people. 🤣
Definitely with you on this, bud.
No, not at all
Yes it is
