Of course. Arya's plot didn't connect with them at all; it was like having Tyrion behead lord Karstark.

thank god someone thinks the same she was across the sea for most of the story and never even met the night king or dealt with him up until that point she had no info other than he is a undead ice monster and she just gets to kill the big bad that the whole series was leading up too it felt like such a let down jon died came back and lost the woman he loved due to the nights watch and lost most of his family and friends he killed several white walkers and killed ramsay and in the end his character was just made into a plot devise and his only purpose was to say your muh queen and then stab the only other person who truly cared for him cause she went back shit crazy he didn’t even get to kill the big bad his entire story was leading up too and he didn’t even get a trial by combat as one last badass thing for him that would have did a little to redeem his character i was wishing for a trial by combat between jon and grey worm as like pay back for him causing the massacre of all the lannister soldiers who had surrendered

It's even worse if you've read the books. Azor Ahai was nothing; the "prince who was promised", owing the vagaries of language, didn't necessarily refer to a *male*; it could have been Danerys, but Arya?

The sad truth is that the show went down the "subverting expectations" route, where it's not about shocking twists that enrich the story, but shocking twists that shock, and have no other value. M. Night Shyamalan could've done better. Many aspects of the ending COULD have worked, had they been better foreshadowed and had time to develop- Danerys's insanity, Sansa's growing coldness, Arya's descent into amorality and return from it- but they fall apart when rushed so badly.

There is, however, NO WAY you could justify the likes of the cheap, anti-character deaths of Littlefinger (getting outwitted by Sansa, his inadvertent protege? THAT works- but not when he's subjected to a mock trial and doesn't raise a finger in his defense; book Littlefinger would simply have left, and the knights of the Vale would have slaughtered the Starks if they tried to stop him) or Barristan Selmy (still alive in the books, and WAY too seasoned to let himself get surrounded and run down by a mere mob), let alone Varys (one of the show's coolest characters, who insists on keeping a distance to puppeteer safely, until he suddenly... doesn't, and then tries to kill Danerys when Circe's still alive, which would make the whole war that he engineered completely meaningless).

A show about the conflicts between Littlefinger and Varys, perhaps backing Tywin Lannister and Olenna Tyrell (two of the show's best characters) would be really hard to write, but it would be awesome. Instead, we got the mound of trash that we got, and the stars saying fans didn't like it because "the pretty white leads don't end up together". Sure, Peter. THAT is our objection. Right.

i can get through my head why daenerys had to die that okay i can see as maybe some poetic sense jon snow someone who judged jaime for being a king slayer later became a queen slayer kinda poetic but they threw his entire story out the window and made him a empty husk of a character he didn’t kill the night king which his entire story arc was leading too he is the song of ice and fire a character who was created by a forbidden love and war two ancient family blood lines with mystical back grounds form into one being who has the blood of ice and fire and came back from the dead just as the night king did king before but they basically threw that away and just brought him back for nothing if they planned to do this from the beginning they should’ve left him dead it would have done more for his character than brining him back just to shank his lover and be sad and wander off into the north with no true purpose jon has the saddest story in GOT everything he did was for nothing his father died at the trident his mother died giving birth the man he thought was his father lied to him his whole life to protect him he was abused and ignored and neglected by cat his entire life and never felt loved he couldn’t do anything other than stand by as his brother was murdered and his unborn nephew and sister in law he had to watch his little brother die in front of him and not to include he held the only person he ever felt loved by in his arms after she got shot through the heart yigritte was the only person who ever truly showed jon love and she died in front of him

not to include all the people he tried to protect died at hard home from the white walkers and he then went back feeling like he failed and got betrayed and murdered by the people he thought believed in him and stood with him he comes back and feels lost and had to go to war and watch his men die and his little brother in front of him and he then falls in love with dany and feels like he found something to keep fighting for then he finds out they are related and their live is forbidden then he loses more of his friends and family during the long night and then the person he loves lsot goes crazy and he has to kill her to save everyone else and the world and he gets imprisoned and doesn’t get to be with his family then he gets sent back to the nights watch they didn’t even give him a ending that deserved he just ended up a empty broken man who lost everything and is forced to keep going on with nothing left to live for edited they gave him the beyond the wall and the far north story which is kinda left open ended and he might have a happy ending but we don’t know that cause they ended it unless they give him a kid and they kill the night king i won't forgive them for what they did to his story and character he was just a punching bag from begging to end
