First off, it's important to remember that Gwendoline Christie is fucking huge at 6'3. That's monstrously big for a woman, plus it looks like she's wearing 4" heels. That means she probably 6'7 in the picture. Sansa Stark is also fairly tall at 5'9, and she's also wearing roughly 4" heels.

Essentially, he's standing next to two women whom are effectively 6'1 and 6'3. Of course that's going to make him look short.
