Why are special effects getting so awful?

Filmmakers are getting lazy. FX look more and more like crap every year, despite huge advances in technology. The Marvel movies are unwatchable.

Avengers: Age Of Ultron budget was $365 million in 2015 which would be $433 in 2022 dollars after inflation. Thor: Love and Thunder budget was $250 million in 2022. Basically half the funding which means half the work otherwise known as half-assing it...

The original Star Wars trilogy had better FX than this contemporary shit, and they did it all practically.

Well I don’t know about all that since I haven’t been to the theaters for a long time… What I do know is that Disney has consistently been losing money for the past 7 years or so according to their financial on their movie releases, sports broadcasts (ESPN), cable subscription services, and at their theme parks. Seven years is about the time frame of when all the woke movies started being pushed by many movie studios.

For example In 2016 Sony did the all woman Ghostbusters remake which had an estimated budget of $144 million and a gross world wide box office sales of $229 million which about 55% goes back to the studio. So they walked away with $126 million for their investment of $144 million. That is a loss of $18 million.

There are a number of films across the industry that were financially unwise woke propaganda pieces. As a result they have to make up that loss somewhere else. Disney has been making up their losses primarily through Disney+ and Hulu online streaming services and political advertisements from left wing operatives. I’d guess they are shaving expenses as well on movies to try to bring those sectors of their business back into the green. That said they keep making woke trash, so it is an ongoing business problem.
