1.2K opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. I've experienced it many times in my life. The first time I noticed was when I was in grammar school. The lady teacher leaned over my shoulder to look at my paper. Her proximity and whispered voice made my head spin.
So certain whispered female voices effect me, and maybe the sound or rustling fabric.
One time I felt it when I was being fitted for a suit.
The first time I heard about ASMR and realized that there was a name for what I had experienced was when I asked a question on GAG. I described the sensations and a couple people mentioned ASMR, so I looked it up.
I've gone to YouTube videos but they don't seem to effect me much. I think I need to experience it from people in real life and not through speakers.
But it's a really cool sensation.24 Reply- +1 y
I love this! You deserve mho too. Sorry I did not see this first.

m +1 yMost of the ASMR clips on YouTube is rather involuntarily goofy or silly but a few videos have actually worked in helping to become sleepy. They were soft-spoken with slow hand movements and some even in black & white.

I really like AlexandriaASMR myself.
+1 yLove it, especially the crunching clay or gym chalks ones. There's also the scenarios ones of people talking but they don't usually interest me as much.

These are my absolute favorite YouTubers.
Gibi ASMR.
MissASMR
Skye ASMR
Marno ASMR
Tingting ASMR.
I would like to believe that most of the artists being female artists is a coincidence, but that's not it. I think, that, since I am a guy, I am more likely to watch a female artist on the screen.
I don't prefer the eating ASMR type. That does not work with me. Whispers, role plays and other things are the ones that I like majorly. Gibi has fastest ASMR series too. Those are awesome!

I like AlexandriaASMR. :)
2.7K opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. While I do not get the tingles of ASMR videos, I do watch or listen to lots of ASMR videos. That said, I not care for the ones that deliberately try to trigger the response - like by chewing gum and blowing bubbles, or the fluttering hands, or those stupid ear-shaped microphones. I just like the simple quiet roleplays.

+1 yCan you please define what you mean? There are many meanings if ASMR, from YouTubers to a medical condition.

For me it is the tingly feeling of having my hair played with. Or having my son drive his toy cars on my back.
- +1 y
@loves2learn Thanks for the clarification. I like it when my SO plays with my hair. Unfortunately, she doesn't do that very often. As you know, my kids are grown, and I kind of miss having the old days when my young sons used me as a racetrack for their matchbox cars.
No, I tried listening to ASMR and didn't like it and through a support group, another member suggested this site you go to and download these audio playlists of people saying things you wish to hear and I downloaded ones catered to a guy like me but having a female whisper lies into my ears made me start to hate myself not only that but the lip smacking, the squeaks from whispering in the my ear bothered me in a bad way.

+1 yI normally don't care for it as I have seen some weird ones. I do have an exception though for Hunnibee ASMR whom I follow on both Facebook and YouTube, and another named Latte ASMR.

I listen too fast and aggressive ASMR as I go to sleep.
It is relaxing and a great way to end the day.10 Reply
+1 yIt freaks me out especially when the recording isn’t supposed to be ASMR but the microphone quality is really good. It sounds like the person is right there in the room if I have my good headphones on.

There are other ways to feel it too. Youtubers have figured out nail tapping and other sounds including whispering set it off too.
