Glimpses of life in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, like the ones you shared, are treasures.
I've really enjoyed a few silent films. In particular, "The Big Parade" and "Wings".
I love many black and white films from the 30s and 40s. Great scripts, acting, sets, lighting and cinematography. Most modern movies are shit in comparison. I really hate dependence on CG action, jiggly camera shots, super rapid cuts, filming in darkness so that you can't see anything but little flashes of light here and there.
No silent but 30-50s for sure! Its real acting with no special effects.
Black and white films are difficult to watch. You really have to concentrate
I dont think you have to concentrate more but color makes it better to watch.
I judge films according to its year. If it is from 1940s, I don't watch a black and white one since there are tons of Technicolor movies in 1940s.
I watch older films in black and white.
1940s are too new for me to watch in black and white. Color wasn't uncommon back then.
Yes, they do, but not usually those from the silent movie era.
