  This song is often known by its refrain "Go West, Young Man" first uttered by Horace Greeley.

  One of the things that is interesting about this song is that Genesis was in trouble at the time; it was 1978 and they had lost two key members of the band who left - Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett - so there were only 3 members left. They decided not to disband, but to keep going and forge a new path musically. Thus, they released "... And Then There Were Three" which was Genesis's first major success including "Follow You, Follow Me" and "Deep In The Motherlode".

  If you want fun uplifting music, disco was rather good for that as you can see with the KC & the Sunshine Band choices.
  
  However, 1977's "I Feel Love" by Donna Summer was revolutionary. While she was the Queen of Disco, "I Feel Love" could be considered as among the first, if not THE first New Wave song. It would have a significant effect on New Wave which began around 1978.
