Tough choice. Both were fantastic.
Although the N64 had some epic titles, the Sega Dreamcast has a special place in my heart because of the awesome fighting games (Dead or Alive 2, Soul Calibur, Marvel vs. Capcom, and Spawn: In the Demon's Hand) and the bloody great roleplaying game Shenmue. Remember playing those over and over again in the late 90s/early 2000's.
The Dreamcast. While many people complained about the controller's size, it actually fit my hands quite comfortably, and unlike the N64's, was clearly meant for a person with only TWO hands.
I don't know I loved the Nintendo 64.. but you always hear that sega was awesome too.. so who knows...
I'll let him answer this one.

dreamcast. not even close. the only reason N64 was better back in the day was cause it was way more affordable. today that's not a factor anymore. more people have experience with N64, cause more could afford it, so more people have sentimental memories and nostalgia for it. but dreamcast is just objectively better.
The Dreamcast had very few good titles. Most of them were adaptations from arcades that sucked for home playing. Also it was expensive.
The Nintendo 64 has very good titles, specially for multiplayer.
Although I would argue that the PlayStation was the true best console. Multiplayer games weren't as good, but it has a crazy amount of good single player games. Also the prize was nice compared with the other two.
N64. I only enjoyed one Dreamcast game--a boxing game that had superpowers and Michael Jackson (not a fan--just my first introduction to him). also, that guy who liked saying ''you can't stop the thunderbolt!''.
I never had the Sega dream cast but I did have the n64 growing up
I prefer game cube
N64. Rogue Squadron.
