However you take gamers as, whether it's casual gaming or competitive.
For a base example we'll say someone who play for 3-5 hours daily.

I'm gamedev formerly and love games but I'm concerned with this "gamer" label now. My way growing up is like we play video games for 1-2 hours at each other's houses and then we play sports, study homework, things of this nature. And nowadays "gamer" seems really hardcore, like up to 5 hours a day. I don't think it's so good to spend up to a third of our time each day playing games.
When you get older and have shit to do it will get in the way but i played nonstop games when i was younger. Highschool i stopped as much and got a job and replaced that time with work and a girlfriend. Its like cigarettes i haven't played in forever. Your mind will change, unless its your passion.
My boyfriend is a hard-core gamer so I of course like gamers and I would even say that I game a little bit but not to the extent that he does. I think their cool.
Hell yeah, I'm one myself. Sucks though there aren't enough gaming questions on here.

Depends. If that is their chosen hobby, but they also do all the other normal things in life - have a job, take care of themselves, etc, then its fine.
What someone does in their spare time us not for me to judge
It's the same as people who watch tv for 3-5 hours. Their free time is their free time. They can do whatever they want.
I play video games for 3-4 hours every night before bed.
What is the actual question tho
