Either John or Yoko said that John was planning on putting The Beatles back together. What sort of stuff do you think they would've done if they had?

John said he loved disco but he never recorded any.
Would they have picked up where they left off and done more pop, gotten into new wave, punk or prog? Would they have done more psych once the second psych era happened?
How long would they have stayed together this time?
How would they're new venture have changed music this time around?

I don't think it could have happened.
They were all so different at the time of breakup.
As the years go by, I feel more and more that George was the most gifted member, in guitar skill as as well as his songwriting being in a blooming state.
I believe things went as they should have.
I guess you could "what if" all day long.
What happened, happened.
Fun to postulate, though.

That subject makes me think of Kings of Leon and how every member is as strong as the next.
I think that's because they're three brothers and a cousin.
I'd bet that they just don't take shit from each other, being family, thereby asserting their each individual talents in very strong ways.
They're my favorite current group.

I've been meaning to put together an all George Beatles collection, just the songs he wrote because, at least as far as their psych stuff, he did the best psych stuff they came up with (except Rain, Tomorrow Never Knows, Lucy In The Sky, Mr. Kite, A Day In The Life, Strawberry Fields and I Am The Walrus.
I think they would've easily gotten together without a hitch. Paul had already been discussing it was John by the late `70's, George and Ringo did a lot of work on John's records. Paul was the only hold out, really. Eventually, they DID get back together just before George died.
I've never heard them, as far as I know. Being a completest, I've been trying not to get into new stuff because, with 62,000 records already, I just don't have the room for more bands to get interested in enough to collect everything they've done. I've got enough Tangerine Dream to play non-stoop for over 20 days and I still haven't listened to it all the way through!! I've had most of it for at least 10 years, now!!

I love your assurance that The Beatle's would have continued on, despite my belief that it couldn't have happened.

I defer to your greater knowledge of them.
Mine is somewhat limited, just because I've never really been that into them.

I do find that the story of the Kings of Leon is extremely intriguing to one who is interested in music as well as being interested in family dynamics.

Fred Armisen did a collection of comedic YT biopics on KOL.
If you get them all compiled ( there are seven of them, I think) and watched in the correct order, it's pretty enlightening as well as amusing.

Well, now that you've brought my parents into this, I recently heard that my dad, who passed away in 1970, was a big fan of The Beatles.
Who knew?
Certainly not myself.
There's a longer story there, but my typing hands are tired.
Those hands happen to be the same ones that I use for other things as well, so...

John could say that because he was oblivious to the extent of the problems caused by Yoko. And George was too resentful about being treated as a lesser musician and lesser songwriter. Maybe a reunion for one concert works, but not a reunion as a working band.
