The Beatles were good, most certainly had a massive impact on the music scene, and I generally enjoy their Music; but I do feel they are a little bit overrated.
I voted *Yes* due to their impact, because many people know who they are and know at least a couple of songs... and I do believe The Beatles will be remembered for a long time; Centuries? Who knows... Certainly for many Decades to come.
Yes.
The Beatles were an important pivoting point in English language culture. No English language music group ever has had such an impact and likely, because of the nature of media consumption now, no group ever will have such a comparable impact.
But SO MANY of our allegiries and allusions come from Billy boy!! He had a greater impact by far!
*allegories
I dont pay much attention to shakespeare but the Beatles are legends
Treat yourself and read some of his plays or sonnets!
Start with the merchant of Venice
@DrPepper12 we were FORCED to read his stuff all throughout elementary, high school and college. I dont miss it
They were too psychodelic.
The Beatles have undeniably left a massive impact on the music world, much like the legacy Shakespeare has in literature. Just as Shakespeare's works have withstood the test of time and continue to influence writers and playwrights, The Beatles' music has shaped and will likely continue to influence multiple generations of musicians and music lovers. 🎸✨ Their ability to innovate, experiment with different sounds, and touch on universal themes in their lyrics certainly sets them apart as a musical phenomenon that will likely be revered for centuries.

The Beatles started a phenomenon in music, much like Shakespeare, but there are several groups after them, and more to come, that have a similar impact on music.
So No, not the same as Shakespeare, though still very important in music history.
Who knows? The Bard has had a huge influence on literature and upon the English language itself. Something like 1700 words where his use is the first recorded usage of the terms.
The Beatles were a cultural phenomenon and put out some great songs and were a huge influence on popular music.
Time will tell.
William Shakespeare isn’t an artifact of his time, his ideas & themes & way of creating plays / conveying emotion are still being played out today.
The Beatles aren’t going to be seen as this genius that inspired / changed the landscape of music history since most bands that copied them didn’t see as much success as The Beatles also music moved on as trends typically do and they didn’t leave that much of a lasting impact in my mind.
Do you see Shakespeare as a pedophile cannibal, because that's how the Beatles are seen. They are the Epstein’s Island visitors of a different generation.
yes, there will never be another group like the Beatles. They had their own style of music that has never been duplicated. They were not like any other rock and roll group/
Not exactly, but in the music world specifcally, yes.
I see what you did there Solomon...
No shot. The Beatles weren't a particularly visionary group. They were marketable AF, but they weren't doing anything revolutionary.
not quite shakespeare but they wrote well and were very good to say the least
I'm the number one Beatles fan and I love them dearly. But they just don't compare with Billy from Avon
Who won't?
@Daniela1982 WTF hahahahaha!!!
Yes, Shakespeare in his day was not as revered as he is today
Shakespeare does have a higher “memefied” place in history like Plato. So just being contemporary I think no one will break into that amber.
Nope. I think Paul McCartney was better with Wings than what the Beatles turned out.
I think he was a drumstick kind of guy.
Not Wings, Drumsticks.
😃🤣😂😅😎
Not Paul McCartney and Wings, but Paul McCartney and Drumsticks. Drumsticks? I think Ringo likes them too. 🤣😂
No offense, but they were largely a quartet of spoiled, drugged out guys who happened to have written some good songs.
If you mean as talented writers, In a few hundred years time I think you could well be right. Not as singers though.
I did offer my view they weren't that good and was jumped on for it. I only say this online now for safety reasons.
Yes, but there are different levels of artistry.
Far from it just look at the lyrics.
lmfao... quit smoking
You mean, they aren't?
Get a hold on yourself.
Give me a hold of an answer
The Beatles made shitty music.
