I just saw #TheLittleMermaid but Whats the last film you saw in theaters?

For starters, I almost fought tonight. I paid a lot for 5 mf tickets and some hoeass highschool lookin mfs thought they were gonna sit in our seats. They legit refused to move unless I found them better seating “together”. Like wtf, I’m not an usher. I wanted to drag one girl so badly, I won’t even lie. It was either that or snitch on them for sneaking in. But they finally got the hell up. Still, I missed the entire 5-10 min intro while dealing with them.

———MY REVIEW OF THE FILM———
Lol okay so I refuse to give haters the satisfaction 🤣 But I gotta give my honest opinion. I of course still prefer the Little Mermaid animated film. It was 9.5/10. This live action was like 7/10 if that.

The singing and soundtrack was on point. There was like 3 extra songs presumably from the broadway version? One was sang by Ariel, another by Eric, and another was a rap by Awkwafina. The rap was catchy. The other two was mediocre.

In fact, it took 30 mins to an hour to stop laughing at the bad cgi and styling. After Ariel pulled Eric to shore, she finally started to appeal. Eric was fugly for about an hour, but his dimples helped him grow on me. Then he put on a hat and I was like, “Okay, yea he can get it.” 🥵

There was a dumbass twist but everything came together quickly. I don't know why but I feel the animated film was a longer screening than the live. Triton was sexy underwater but not above. I honestly felt annoyed by the cockblocking parents. But nothing threw me off as bad as how Flounder and Sebastian looked. Melissa surprisingly played a good Ursula. Halle looked amazing in the pink gown and ponytail at the end. Too bad she wasn't styled like that the entire film.

Earlier this month, I saw “Fast X” and some months back I saw “65”. I think both were amazing. Tomorrow I’ll catch “Creed 3” and “Antman Quantumania” at home. I still want to “Dungeons and Dragons”, “Super Mario Bros”, and “Shazam 2” when they hit tv or DVD since i missed their theatrical release. “The Flash” and “Barbie” honestly don’t look appealing enough to see in theaters. “Transformers” surprisingly looks amazing but I’ll wait for the dvd release. I’ll prob return for “Kraven the Hunter”

I saw 65 in theaters and i love how savage the dinos are rather than humans making them look like heroes in the Jurassic World series. Shazam comes on HBO today but i have Starz instead 😭 Im gonna be checking out Creed 3 and Antman 3 today and if i love em, im gonna add their dvd to my collection. Im a huge movie collector. Over 1100 already... Also Black Adam was baaaad. So glad i saw it on tv before buying it

Oh no i can't just buy to buy. The 1100+ i own consists of at least 90% faves. I bought every film i enjoyed in theaters or on tv dating back to times before i was born. I only have 10% of films that i bought before having ever seen them and almost all were regrets. I dont like wasting money. I think Creed 1 and 2 were good because they had Stallone. I can't stand MBJ attitude in any of his films. But Creed 3 doesn't have stallone so im worried. And yea i dont care for Bluray nor 4k. I like the standard dvds because i dont use digital codes and i actually appreciated graphics of the 80s/90s/early 2000s more than a lot of the cgi and bright screen mess today. Out of the 1100+, i probably own 20 blurays, 10 that came with digital codes, and 5 4k lmao.

Wow. I have to admit that's awesome. The only show I know I own that's before I was born is The Aadams Family. Best show ever. You have a good idea of watching before buying. I might try that but not sure how well that will go. Lol. I'm currently trying to watch The Conjuring movie series in timeliness order. Not going so well. If the movie is good, don't mind any kind of graphics. If you like cheesy horror, try Ticks. That one is a classic.

I refuse to pay money for this. if she had originally been black, it would have been cool, but they changed it to fit some bs agenda, it's ridiculous. The cgi makes it look more like Ariel, that's what helped this movie. If I ever watch it, it's not going to be because I paid to watch it.
If they wanted to add a black mermaid they should have a made a full NEW story, not take an original and change it, that's just a big no, regardless of how good the acting may be, that's not the point.

Anyway without cgi this wouldn't have even been half as good because without it, it would look NOTHING like the original at all.

I hope they don't ruin all other original movies that kids grew up with just to fit in with this new he she they them and try to make trans play who were original real women and such, that's likely what's going to be next. and again that wouldn't even be something against trans, just if they wanna add it, they can make a completely NEW story instead of trying to change what already existed.

They’ve done that several times with cinderella. she's been different ethnicities and so has the fairy godmother. It is what it is. Films were made to entertain. I’m not expecting them to stick to one script or casting call

no there's different versions of cinderella which they could have done the same with this one like I said build a new story and can still be a little mermaid but not THE little mermaid. The only cinderella the follows exactly the Disney version, sticks to what the original had. All the others have the same concept but follow slight different stories from being in a dinner to not having mice to not using magic, etc etc. common sense is not so common when people want to desperately "FIT in to what's IN" to no be attacked by those demanding something or be "cancelled" or being called racist or anti something etc etc. Ridiculous really.

Last movie i saw in theaters was the fast X and man oh man it was more hilarious than it should with all the over the top top action stunts and you know! You saw it too.

Little Mermaid !!! I am not into live action adaptations from disney classics. I saw the jungle book when it came out and since then i made my mind not to get into these because animated vs live action! Animated wins every time.

Haven't been in the theater in ages. So far though I've enjoyed all of the Disney animated films a lot more than their later live-action versions. Some stories just work better as animation.

Beauty and the Beast is a good example. In the animated one, Gaston is hilarious - a fantastic cartoon buffoons/ villain. In the live one he is just sort of nasty - no longer funny.

And don't get me started on the new Mulan...

i think Luke Evans is amazing in any role but Emma was not cute enough to be Belle. And i personally hate Beauty and the Beast even as an animation. So i didn't watch the live. I loved Mulan though i felt it shouldve been named something else. It lacked the music and Eddie, two things that made the animation great. Bt iloved the martial arts aspect just like in Shang Chi and the latest Mortal Kombat

The problem I had with the Mulan rewrite:
In the original, Mulan tries and tries to be as strong as a man - and fails, but then starting with that fantastic scene of her figuring out how to climb the post she discovers she can succeed by being smart. Its a lesson for children that there are many types of strength and ability and to make use of those you have.

In the rewrite she succeeds simply because she has awesome mystical power and can out kung-fu people. Only lesson is that you are either born with it... or not.

I didn't even like Beauty and the Beast animated. I thought belle was pretty and i like some of her and gastons songs, but the film scared me as a kid and it eas bust boring to me. The beast was rude half the film. He was worse than gaston in my opinion and i wanted him to stay dead when he fell off the rooftop 🤣 So i have not tried to watch the live action plus Hermione looks nothing like a belle. 😂

Well to be honest it's different when you are a kid, when you get older you realise that a lot of the disney fairytales are problematic. I mean my husband actually ruined the movie for me by arguing that Gaston was the hero, belle was a conceited snobby bitch and the Beast was the archetypal abusive bad boy and belle only liked him because he was tall and rich. Apparently cinderella is about finding a husband before you get too old and turn into a pumpkin. The little mermaid has to change everything about herself to get a man. Sleeping Beauty is about a privledged wealthy man who thinks because of his status can do anything to you. Snow White is about a spoilt brat who needs a Prince to save her from her step mom and uses 7 dwarves to do her bidding. Alladin is apparently about a guy needing money and status to get the girl.

In this case, we went out to dinner afterwards and had a great time just talking about how stupid and funny movie was.

I liked the Elton John movie. Which is surprising because I don't really care for Elton John. I think I just like Taron Egerton. I agree the Elvis movie was horrible. And I went to see Bohemian Rhapsody with my family. So I'd have even enjoyed it if it was bad. And I would classify myself as a Queen fan. But I didn't like Mercury's portrayal. I don't know him because as I said I'm not a fan. I always thought he was gay. And I don't care. But they made him seem very torn. Between the girl who knew and liked and his proclivity towards men. I don't know how much of this was real to life but he came off as very selfish. She loved him. And he wanted her in his life seemingly too much to say he was gay and it was never going to be.
Not to be an a**hole but it kind of made me glad I knew his character was going to get AIDS. 😂

Elvis was bad because the guy looked nothing like him ans couldnt even act as him. Plus the film went on too long. I like Elvis and Queen songs as well.
