I understand the idea. Certainly this sort of premium would also need to be added onto movies, series, books and such that contain violence?
And for good measure, anything explicit or adult in nature would be an easy add-on.
But no, to me that is a bad idea. If these things were legitimately harmful they should be banned or have propaganda ran against it. The latter is much more effective.
If we want to limit violence in society, the actual strongest shared trait is a lack of social life and structure, paired with a dysfunctional home and of course economical situation. These are some of the initial problems we know matters most.
Essentially, investing more in schools. Employing modern psychology to ensure people have and make friends (wild idea but really, some psychiatry integration to education is quite easy), as well as effective welfare - which of course can take many shapes - would be the most potent way of tackling violence. Video games are unlikely to have any noticable effect at all.
Violence tax? It's not clear to me yet that boys exposed to violent material are worse off for it. It is more clear to me that when a primary school teacher suspends a boy for drawing some guy with a sword or guy doing violent acts like shooting people with blood everywhere or heads being chopped off, she may be guilty of condemning a boy for just being a boy and having the type of imagination that boys have.
How about a tax or at least eliminating subsidies for single-parent households? It seems far more directly linked to me that single-parent households, especially single mothers, raise children far more susceptible (not guaranteed for women who can't tell apart risks from guarantees) to violent crimes.
Hey, love GTA IV! I see Niko back there.

"What I know is he likes a fight and he ain't the fucking law."
Oh, the question.
No, no they shouldn't.

Of course not- would you charge more for violent movies?
What?
What is the original price?
For used games the market dictates thes price. If there are lot of copies on the market the price is low, but as the amount of copies available decreases or demand increases the price will rise, espacially for mint condition limit editions. But this doesn't depend on the genre.
Otherwise its the companies who put the price tag on.
Lemma guess you think violent video games make serial killers when it's a known fact it does not and the most prolific killers like Bundy for sure wasn't sat there playing Cod to become violent lol.
Certain people, like psychosis, schizophrenia, mental problems, and/or, should not be allowed to play them.
They should be banned.
